Liam Neeson will return as Zeus in Wrath of the Titans

I would have thought that everyone attached to CLASH OF THE TITANS would have gone running for the hills after that film was released, especially the duo who are actually Oscar-caliber actors, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson, last seen together in SCHINDLER’S LIST.

But Fiennes joined Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton in pledging to return for the sequel, and now the last holdout, Neeson, has followed suit. I imagine it would have been kind of hard to make a Greek mythology movie without Zeus, and hopefully Neeson got a pretty paycheck for coming back to one of his worst roles in a decade.

Neeson however, maintains he’s excited for it, and this is what he told Belfast Telegraph about the film so far:

“They’re on script ten,” he explained to the Belfast Telegraph. “I’ve only read half of it and there is still work being done.” But, he promises, “I think it’s going to be some kick-ass stuff with a very human story to it.”

“We will start next March. I’m very much looking forward to it. It’s a whole revamping, you know,” he added.

I’m not sure what a “whole revamping” consists of, but it can’t be bad considering the first film. Also, if rumored cast members James Franco, as Poseidon’s son, and Javier Bardem, as Ares, God of War, actually turn out to be involved, this could possibly be something to look forward to. Maybe?
