Logan Lerman in talks to play Peter Parker in Spidey reboot!

Update: Apparently Lerman was “misquoted” according to THR. “No offers have been made, nor have any business discussions been made with Lerman,” says the studio. I mean, you can listen to the interview here, where Lerman does say the studio contacted him. Maybe he misspoke, but I wouldn’t call that being “misquoted.” And I don’t think anyone was saying this was a done deal or there was an offer on the table.

Well, a few weeks ago when we heard the news about the SPIDER-MAN reboot, everyone’s minds immediately raced to the same thought, who would be the new Peter Parker? The studio wanted a high schoolaged superhero, and it seems they might have found one in the form of PERCY JACKSON’s (and your guys #3 pick for CAST THIS) 18-year-old Logan Lerman.

Speaking to the Billy Bush Show for Access Hollywood, Lerman confirmed that he was in talks for the part, though obviously nothing is final yet.

“There have been a few discussions, it’s definitely something I’m looking into,” Logan told Billy on Thursday.

“It’s one of my favorite characters ever and I’m a huge fan of the series,” he continued. “I’d love to have more conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it.”

“It’s just, you know, conversations are starting. It’s a long process with the studio and the producers and everything. But it’s definitely a project that I’m really interested in, of course,” he told Billy. “I’d love to focus on the human element a little bit more. It’d be such a fun experience.”

This is the first real casting talk that we’ve heard about the project, and it does seem like things are humming along in Lerman’s direction. What do you guys make of all this?
