McAvoy & Penn Conspire

Robin is still so lovelly

Spielberg could learn a thing or two from Robert Redford about making a Lincoln movie: Announce it in August, cast it in September and start filming by October. AND that one will probably make the Oscar-watch list. So how ’bout it Stevie??? Liam’s not gonna wait forever.

Robert Redford’s THE CONSPIRATOR got itself a couple of solid leads with the gracefully-aging beauty Robin Wright Penn playing Mary Surratt, a woman sentenced to death for conspiring to kill President Lincoln, while Jame McAvoy will play “an idealistic young war hero who reluctantly defends Surratt and in the process comes to believe she is innocent.”

No release plan is known yet, the film being independently financed. For now. Given the names behind it and the subject matter -and possible Oscar considerations- distributors will probably start bidding soon enough.
