Mike Myers, a Bastard Aug. 14, 2008
Source: VarietyTarantino Archives
by: Dave Davis

MymyYou have to hand it to Quentin Tarantino -- he rarely makes traditional or expected casting decisions, usually for the best (his own appearances excluded). So we'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt here...

QT will assist Mike Myers in dissipating the stench of this summer's abhorrent LOVE GURU by giving him a minor part in his WWII flick INGLORIOUS BASTARDS.

For those of you who read the illegally but widely distributed copy of the script (so, almost all of you), Myers will play British officer Ed Fenech,  giving him yet another opportunity to utilize his increasingly intolerable array of accents. Part of me was hoping he'd play Hitler...

Brad Pitt and Eli Roth are already committed to play some of Tarantino's behind-enemy-lines band of Nazi-killers, while Simon Pegg, David Krumholtz, BJ Novak and Natassja Kinski are apparently still pending.

Extra Tidbit: War. It's fantastic.

MIGUEL FERRER IS THE MAN
Seriously, that man needs to do more work. He can play serious and comedic in the blink of an eye. Oh yeah... Mike Myers... maybe he won't suck.

This movie is going to kick so much ass it will be included in the Guiness Book of World Records for ass-kicking right next to Mr. T and bottom shelf tequila. Tarantino is a great director who has never disapointed me. I also believe.

It may not be a bad idea. This sounds better than Eli Roth.

and what's the deal with pending BJ Novak? C'mon...

Yea... Austin Shrek... just what this needs. If he plays it hammy, just like everything this dink does, it'll crush the project. Yea, Eli may not be the greatest actor (neither is Meyers), but at least he's one cool mofo. QT, what are you doing?

Eli Roth's going to be in it..... that's very bad news. Myers is cool though, wasn't even aware a script had leaked, wouldn't read it anyway, what's the point in doing that? It'll just take surprises away from the film.
