More Payne posters Aug. 20, 2008

Years after I munched painkillers like Skittles and perforated hundreds of goons with a limitless supply of ammunition (and also played the game for a little while), MAX PAYNE is finally breaking from the confines of computers and consoles, courtesy of Mark Wahlberg.

Wahlberg stars as the stone-faced ex-lawman on a mission to avenge his dead family, contending with corrupt cops, lousy weather, the mob and a hallucinogen called Valkyr. Mila Kunis helps him shoot the hell out of everyone for our entertainment. Here are a couple of new international posters that popped up online:

Extra Tidbit: In the first MAX PAYNE game, "John Woo" is a password used by mobsters to enter a hideout.

Is this still getting a PG-13?

These are pretty cool. I'll watch Wahlberg in anything really.

I still think of 'good vibrations' even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't.

SIN CITY
first poster looks exactly like sin city. I'm with you emjoi. maybe the game came ou t before the movie but the advertisment comes out now + the comic is older than the game! Now what?

SIN CITY?
The look of these posters reflects the in game story sequences which were played out like a graphic novel... Which came out before Sin City was on the big screen.

Also, if all that stuff really is from Valkyr then this movie looks bad ass.

What? Sin City? Have you see any footage? It doesn't look like Sin City.

I think you're looking for The Spirit articles.

So this is the Sin City look.
It's become a cliche/genre, like Matrix moves were a few years back.

HMMM
I still can't decide on this movie. I think it mainly hinders on whether or not the supernatural stuff is real or drug induced. I'll be pretty upset if they go full on supernatural, but I think it would be REALLY cool if Valkyr was responsible for all of the supernatural stuff in the trailer.

That last shot in the trailer was interesting in that it looked like a guy got shot only to be grabbed and pulled out a window into the night air by The Angel of Death, but it would be cool if in actuality, the guy got shot and fell out the window to his death. The Angel pulling him out could just be a hallucination of the drug. If that's what someone sees when they're on Valkyr, then that would give them license to add some cool visual flair without disrupting the storyline.

Wow. The second poster could easily be a panel from the in-game graphic novel. Very well done.

Although, the Hitman advertising was also very good, and we saw how that turned out.

Man, the marketing is Great, just a shame that this is going to be watered down to a PG-13 and have some crazy supernatural story plot added to fill in for the violence.
