The whole PUNISHER: WAR ZONE kafuffle has taken another twist, as now everything is great! According to the film's cinematographer, Steve Gainer, all of that shit that we heard about this movie before was completely fallacious.

Lexi is not off the film... Lexi is still involved in the edit process... The film is not (nor could it ever be) PG-13... Today I saw a cut that ran 91 minutes... Lexi did in fact get married... When I hear vicious unfounded troll rumors like the "film was unwatchable" or "a total mess" it makes my blood boil... it's like saying a baby will be ugly before it is born, I can't freaking wait for this film to come out and prove the nay-sayers wrong.

Whatever. I'm not buying it. Lexi Alexander is like Anne freaking Heche. Is she in or out? This whole thing is a fiasco. They should have cast Thomas Jane as the lead from the get-go. After that they could have gotten Gob from Arrested Development to direct it, and a wild bear that Lionsgate found loose on their lot to do the promotion -- I'm pretty sure it would have ended up less of a farce than this.

Extra Tidbit: The Punisher is pretty bad ass for a couple of pages in Marvel's Civil War story.

Ray Stevenson looks like Tim Bradstreet's version of The Punisher on every cover for the last 8 years.
Thomas Jane didn't like the script! He'd rather do The Mutant Chronicles. Which was great.....Not! So F him.
Lexi Alexander's Green Street Hooligans was great. I watched the first 5 mins and knew she would give me (a true) fan a good Punisher movie. Time will ...

Stevenson is cool
But a good actor does not a good movie make. I saw the Punisher panel at Comic-Con and Stevenson was good enough to come shake my hand when I yelled out "13th legion" so perhaps my opinion is biased. So many things can go wrong with a movie and a rushed or inconsistent editing process is a biggie. I really hope its good, the red band I saw recently was cool. I will watch it just to give Stev...

could be good.
Jane was decent for that incarnation, now we move on... Let's give this another shot. Stevenson is going to surprise a lot of people. The chandelier swinging thing i dislike, but all else seems decent. Give Alexander a chance, and we'll see what happens.

i am more than willing to give this movie a try, and yes, Stevenson was great in Rome, as has been said many times before. i am liking the slightly over the top action and set pieces but i cant get too crazy, ala Riki Oh...

What I saw in the most recent trailer looked good! But WTF is up with the director doing a disappearing job? Why doesn't she speak out and clear up all the nonsense that's flying around the net?

I saw the Red band trailer and it looked kinda dumb, There were like 5 or 6 times where a fist went thru someone's head and the music wuz shittay! I don't think this is gonna be good, I believe some of the peeps in this forum could have done a better job!

Fuck!!! Yeah!!! I thought i was going to have to wait for the dvd to come out before we got the good version. Tom Jane was a great Punisher, but Ray Stevenson looks exactly like Leonardo Fernandez vision.

Yeah, Tom Jane was about the only good thing about 2004's Punisher, but get a grip, he wasn't THAT great, people (the dog-shite script helped no one)!

Stevenson at least looks more like Castle. I'm willing to give this reboot a shot. Just really want to see a proper Punisher adaptation for once.

EDIT: I went and watched the 2nd trailer which I somehow missed. At least they got the setting right this time. And it has a nice mix of moody and dark coloring. Jigsaw--he does look pretty fuckin gnarly, if a bit Dick Tracy-villain esque. Stevenson looks badass and has the voice (I would personally love it if there was a bit of hard-boiled narration over some of the film a'la the comics by Castle). The hanging off the chandelier firing guns shit is lame--let's hope that's not the movie's best set piece.

So I am still hopeful for this.

Jigsaw in the trailer looks creepily brutal
Stevenson is a big ugly monster with a lot of charisma, the action looks completely reckless...Yeah that's about how the Punsher's supposed to look. Jane is a fine actor, but he's just too cutesy to ever be Frank Castle.

Didn't i say this before....
If i were Marvel i would have done whatever i could to get Thomas jane back. This movie makes me angry. I'll give Ray a chance, but i'm already biased. Make some other cool superhero movie Marvel! As for the R rating, its Punisher, its going to be R. Too much violence and greased hair for a PG-13 rating. :-)

Ditto. From what I've heard, Stevenson was amazing in the HBO show Rome so that should account for something.

If he sucks, which I have a gut feeling he won't then we'll see if we get Tom Jane back.

No doubt about it, Ray very much looks the part. I'm not completely giving up on this movie, it looks to me alot more in line with the comic. I love TJ, and I liked his Punisher but I think we should give it a chance

I mean you have a no name actor as the lead meaning anyone not familiar with or a fan of Punisher already will more than likely not be moved to go see a movie they dont understand with an actor they dont know. Secondly it looks scarilly like the original Punisher with Dulph... kinda cheap looking has that straight to DVD vibe. Hope not though as I love the comic a...

he might me a nice dude and actor but he seemed like a metrosexual "David Beckham" kind of Punisher to me. He could not deliver the badassness required for such a character. Plus the first movie looked more like "Far Cry" then Punisher. So I'm looking forward to this!

Can we finally stop with the "TOM JANE IS THE ONLY PUNISHER" crap? I liked his Punisher, absolutely, but it missed the grittyness that Ray does seem to bring. The Punisher is dark and it looks like this movie is delivering that exactly.

There are a lot of rumors going on about the film right now, and it would be nice to actually hear a direct statement from Lexi. Because this is all confusing as hell.

I am all for Tom Jane, even though that's not happening.

Oh, and Civil War Punisher is really bad ass.
