Cool Videos: Russian Meteorite: The Movie trailer!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In quick Hollywood turnaround style, the real-world event of the Russian meteorite fireball that exploded over the nation about ten hours ago has now been turned into a movie!  Well, a movie trailer, anyway.  Suspect X has put together an INCEPTION style mash-up of the event, which is said to be unrelated from Asteroid 2012 DA14, which will pass Earth just outside of 17,150 miles.  The Russian meteor is estimated to have been about 10 tons and 15 meters (49 feet) wide and entered the Earth’s atmosphere at a hypersonic speed of at least 33,000 mph, shattering at about 18-32 miles above the ground. It released the energy of several kilotons above the Chelyabinsk region, the same as a small atomic bomb.

Pretty crazy, right?  Thankfully no one was killed, although many injuries have been reported, otherwise this video would certainly be in poor taste.  As it is, it’s pretty humorous and I have no doubt a few Hollywood execs are wringing their hands with visions of ARMAGEDDON 2 burning in their brain.  As it stands, Bruce Willis‘ return to the DIE HARD franchise this weekend just happens to take place in Russia, where the former ARMAGEDDON star is sure to help make some bank despite the horrid (and much deserved) reviews.  Could it all be a publicity stunt from FOX?
