Hugh Jackman‘s cameo in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS made me miss good ol’ Logan. The announcement of THE WOLVERINE made me quite happy, especially since the Japan arc is one of the best stories (if not THE best) that the character has received thus far.
Speaking of cameos, as it turns out, one of Wolvie’s former teammates may make an appearance in his second solo character film…but which one? In an interview with Parade, Jackman reveals the cameo, but does not let slip who it might be. However, does the line before the reveal have a possible clue?
Parade: Give us a little scoop on the film.
Jackman: You want to get me into trouble, don’t you? [laughs] Okay, the movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him. And there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.
Who could it be? I think on this one, I actually want to be surprised.
Synopsis: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, ‘The Wolverine’ finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
THE WOLVERINE, directed by James Mangold is due to hit theaters July 26, 2013.
