UPDATED: Kevin Smith got a peek at the new Batsuit for Batman vs. Superman

UPDATED: According to a reader of Manofsteelfanpage.com who attended the podcast, the costume influence that was bleeped out was Jim Lee. If that’s the truth then go me for getting that one right.

Most of our time talking about BATMAN VS SUPERMAN has been spent discussing supporting characters like Wonder Woman and most recently, Nightwing. I’m going to step out on a limb here and say that I think the movie should concentrate more on the two main characters and possibly a villain. I feel like sometimes we want to cram as many characters in because a comic movie is being made. We still don’t know how much we will see either Wonder Woman or Nightwing in the upcoming film. To be fair, Wonder Woman is said to only show up as Diana. Again, this is all early so we will, or at least I will reserve judgement until I get the bigger picture.

Now that’s out of the way, I thought you guys might be interested in what Kevin Smith had to say about the new Batsuit on his weekly podcast with co-host Ralph Garman “Hollywood Babble-On”. Yes, he’s seen it and seems pretty damn excited about it:

“I saw the costume, more than that I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume…I don’t want to give anything away cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this…I instantly bear hugged him. You have not seen this costume in film before. Because every other movie has done this matrixy black armor thing…There wasn’t a single nipple on this [frick]ing suit man. I think everyone is gonna be like ‘Holy Shit!’ We haven’t been down this path before. Even the Hardest core “[frick] this movie” person will be like ‘alright, I’m ready!’

Smith also mentioned what the suit was influenced by but said influence was bleeped out:

“It seemed like it was very [Redacted] Influenced.”

Oops. Guess he was a little too excited about it. Which suit would please even the most hardcore fans? Is it the grey/blue suit? Could Frank Miller or Jim Lee be the influence behind the suit?

Give us your thoughts below.
