Kim Soo Hyun joins The Avengers 2 in a “substantial supporting” role

It's been rumored for a while Kim Soo Yun (also known as Claudia Kim) might appear in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but now it's official. The South Korean actress recently announced the news with a Twitter post.

“After a long wait, I’m happy to be back with great news. I have a lot to do ahead of me, but for now, the words ‘Welcome to the Marvel Universe’ are amazing and kind of overwhelming. I was a fan of Marvel Comics, and if you really like something, looks like fate can make it happen.”

So who will Kim Soo Hyun be playing in Joss Whedon's film? A representative for the movie told Osen the character's identity is a spoiler, and it's a substantial supporting role.

“It would be a spoiler, so we can’t tell you which character she will play. Marvel always prohibits telling too much about the story. Her character is already decided and the scene is already written so we cast Kim Soo Hyun, but we can’t let you know about her character. We only can say that her character is a substantial supporting role."

It's been previously rumored Kim Soo Hyun will play a doctor connected to Tony Stark and Ultron, however we have no clue if her character will be from Marvel's comics, or created specifically for the movie. But since her character's identity is apparently a spoiler, I think there's a very good chance she will star as someone from the comics. Who do you think she'll be playing in THE AVENGERS sequel?

THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will be in theaters on May 1st, 2015.
