New international trailer for 47 Ronin with Keanu Reeves shows off some new footage

A new international trailer has debuted for the long-delayed Keanu Reeves fantasy actioner 47 RONIN, which features a nice helping of new footage from the film. It's been such a long time that we've heard anything from this film, so it's cool to catch some more glimpses of what it has to offer. Some are expecting the worst given the production delays, but I certainly think it has potential. Starring Reeves, Rinko Kikuchi, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the pic has got shades of CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON mixed with a bit of SUCKER PUNCH, which could be good or bad depending on your perspective.

Check it out:

I'm cautiously optimistic with this one. I'm a fan of Reeves as he's proven himself more often than not to be able to hop genres and be more than the "whoa" man. Not to mention, he's just a very likable and humble guy. Plus, you've got samurai's and dragons. I mean, that's got to account for something, right? Yeah, it could all be just a huge mess, but so far I'm intrigued.

47 RONIN hits theaters on December 25, 2013.
