New stills from Iron Man 3 put the spotlight on Wang Xuequi as Doctor Wu

Well hello, Dr. Wu.

A couple of new stills from IRON MAN 3 put the spotlight on Dr. Wu played by Wang Xuequi (FOREVER ENTHRALLED, BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS). Wu is a new character, who was not in the original Extremis story from Warren Ellis. So what do we know about this character? Not much. What we can deduct comes from a scene from the trailer as well as some evidence from one of the photos below. I’m going to talk about potential spoilers now, so go ahead and scroll down if you just want to take a look at the pics.

SPOILERS: When Tony is lying on the operating table, is Dr. Wu the one who injects him with the Extremis virus after the fight with Mallen (James Badge Dale)? I know Dr. Maya Hansen (Rebecca Hall) is the one who initially gets the call from Tony telling her that he is headed her way, but Dr. Wu, as indicated by the second photo, seems to be more involved.

Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

IRON MAN 3 will enter your life on May 3, 2013.
