Robocop gets dramatic in the latest trailer for Jose Padilha’s film starring Joel Kinnaman

Another trailer for ROBOCOP has been released, featuring some brand new footage. The first part is a little emotional, and involves Alex Murphy's (Joel Kinnaman) transformation into the superhuman cyborg law enforcer, but there's also some great looking previously unseen action scenes in this latest look at the film.

"It's not a suit: it's you."

Synopsis:

In the year 2028 multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

There's a part of me that still isn't too thrilled about a ROBOCOP remake, but for the most part, what I've seen of the new film looks solid. It might not have the satirical humor or the level of violence that was in the original, however I do think Jose Padilha's film could still be a very fun ride.

ROBOCOP also stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel and Samuel L. Jackson, and will be released on February 12th, 2014.
