Spoilers: What is the future of the Hulk post Avengers: Age of Ultron?

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Mark Ruffalo has been making the interview rounds as of late for his upcoming movie BEGIN AGAIN (our review), so he's no doubt getting questions regarding all things Hulk and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Earlier today we shared recent comments from Ruffalo about the future of the Hulk character and specifically how he didn’t think Planet Hulk was such a good direction to go for the more than likely solo movie.

There is now speculation from Drew McWeeny at Hitfix, along with some potentially spoilery details, about what Mark Ruffalo and company know and may have planned for the beloved character. McWeeny visited the London set of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and isn’t allowed to speak about what he saw or learned, but addressed some rumors going around.

Do I think there is a "Planet Hulk" movie in development by Marvel? No. Do I think fans of "Planet Hulk" are going to be happy between "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" and "Avengers 3"? Yes.

**POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW**

He goes on to say that when the final war with Ultron spills onto the battlefield and out of the virtual realm, Hulk has a major part to play. That ends with him onboard a Quin jet that’s pre-programmed so he is unable to stop it. "Here's where I'd wager his spaceship is headed” Hitflix’s story says, “wherever the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY are located". So if we are to believe this, Banner's ship will take him to another planet, where he will end up meeting the Guardians and having an adventure with them. The larger story will be about the Guardians finding a way to get Banner home; now that’s a crossover I could get behind! Of course this is one person’s theory, based on some firsthand knowledge and insight mind you. It would set up Thanos looking back at the Earth in time for the third AVENGERS film.

So do Mark Ruffalo, Disney, and Marvel know more than they’re telling us? It sounds like a whole lot if we are to believe what Drew McWeeny at Hitfix has to say about it.

What do you guys have to say?
