Make it rain! New red-band trailer for 2 Guns, starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Not all comic book adaptations this summer involve superheroes! The Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg starrer 2 GUNS, based on the comic from Boom! Studios, is set to go off this week and the studio has just released a red-band trailer to let you know just what kind of R-rated antics are in store for the pic. Mostly, it's just some profanity and raunchy jokes, but the dynamic between the two main stars looks to be key selling point for the film. Both Wahlberg and Washington have had decent success in the cheeky action genre and 2 GUNS looks to be a fun escape from the big budget extravaganzas that are leaping from comic pages to the big screen this season.

Suck my chicken!:

Here's the synopsis:

A DEA agent and a naval intelligence officer find themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. While fleeing, they learn the secret of their shaky alliance: Neither knew that the other was an undercover agent.

I've been wondering where the marketing push was for 2 GUNS as it seemed to be flying under the radar a bit, so it's nice to see some effort to promote the flick, which seems like two big-name stars having some fun and not taking themselves too seriously for a change. Plus, you've got Paula Patton traipsing around in her unmentionables and I just don't have a problem with that. In fact, it's a pretty good selling point. Toss in Bill Paxton, Fred Ward, and Edward James Olmos and 2 GUNS may well be a surprise hit.

2 GUNS, directed by Baltasar Kormákur (CONTRABAND), makes it rain on August 2, 2013.
