The S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series could drop in the fall of 2013

Joss Whedon‘s S.H.I.E.L.D series is becoming one of the more anticipated of 2013…wait, will it be 2013?

According to Marvel TV head, Jeff Loeb it certainly looks like it:

“We have a “little” pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!”

Getting another series from Whedon is certainly something to look forward to. In November, we heard that the series would start shooting as soon as January. Like most of you, I’m wondering who the big bad is going to be in the series. Whedon will direct the pilot episode, and the episodes that follow will be written by Whedon as well as frequent collaborators, his brother Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. This all makes me quite antsy. We could always use a little more Whedon in our lives.

Clark Gregg will return as Agent Phil Coulson, and joining him will be Ming-Na as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons and Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz.
