Topher Grace joins Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Where the hell did Topher Grace go? The actor looked to have limitless options on his horizon until SPIDER-MAN 3 crapped the bed. Since then he has appeared in the comedy VALENTINE’S DAY, the retro TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT, and PREDATORS, but not much else. He did cobble together his own supercut of the STAR WARS prequels, but that is about it. Now, Grace looks to be taking a role in his biggest film in a long time.

Grace just joined Christopher Nolan‘s INTERSTELLAT along with veterans John Lithgow and Ellen Burstyn. They will feature alongside the already brimming roster that also has Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, Bill Irwin, Timothée Chalamet and Mackenzie Foy.

Nolan’s science fiction epic sounds more along the lines of CONTACT rather than WAR OF THE WORLDS as it tells the story of “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding.”

I like Grace as an actor and while this role may just be a smaller supporting appearance, it is nice to see him working with a director like Nolan. Nolan latched onto Joseph Gordon-Levitt, an actor I have often equated Grace to. Hopefully this marks an uptick in Grace’s career. On it’s own, INTERSTELLAR is shaping up to be one hell of an all-star movie.

INTERSTELLAR opens November 7, 2014.
