Trailer for In Secret with Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac, and Tom Felton takes lust to murderous heights

There isn’t much secrecy in this trailer for IN SECRET, which features rising stars Oscar Isaac, Elizabeth Olsen, and Tom Felton in the dramatic crime thriller based on the play by Neal Bell. I guess that’s how a lot of play’s are, in that the performances are more important than the story beats. Certainly with the aformentioned cast that could be the selling point, especially with veteran thespian Jessica Lange added into the mix. Felton, for his part, is near unrecognizeable from his Harry Potter days as Draco Malfoy, which I’m sure was a big reason for taking on such a role. Olsen and Isaac have both been generating a slow burn of late and the two of them together seems like a great cinematic match, even if the movie feels a little predictable.

Take a look:

Here’s the synopsis:

Set in the lower echelons of 1860s Paris, Therese Raquin, a sexually repressed beautiful young woman, is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille, by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin. Therese spends her days confined behind the counter of a small shop and her evenings watching Madame play dominoes with an eclectic group. After she meets her husband’s alluring friend, Laurent, she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.

Period dramas that involve lust and murder seem to be a dime a dozen, but I will say that the actors are a big selling point here. It also has a refined look to it, which makes it a little more enticing for those that are usually averse to sitting through such films. If nothing else, this one could certainly be a good-looking pic with some great new (and old) actors.

IN SECRET is set to reveal all on February 21, 2014.
