Soderbergh's Eros

11.06.2002

After the release of SOLARIS this Thanksgiving, Steven Soderbergh plans to take some time off. Sort of. While he'll take a year vacation from directing films, he has agreed to direct one segment in an ensemble film made up of three parts. Soderbergh will replace Pedro Almodovar, who dropped out of his role contributing a tale to EROS, a film that will focus on "human love and sexuality." Certainly seems that Soderbergh is on an erotic bent lately with all the talk of SOLARIS's steamy scenes. Also contributing to EROS are Michelangelo Antonioni and Wong Kar-Wai. Almodovar is still expected to consult on the film's overall feel. No word on the film's US release as it's being financed by an Italian production company.
