Lost: The Movie?

07.07.2006

"Lost" might've gotten shut out of the Emmy nominations yesterday, but that doesn't mean it's showing any signs of slowing down. The Lost Experience online game is going strong, Season 2 will hit DVD early fall and Season 3 will begin filming next month. Now we're also getting word of... a LOST movie? WENN, the always reliable news source of IMDB who also recently picked up our April Fool's joke about Kate Beckinsale and WONDER WOMAN as fact, is reporting that "Lost" showrunner Damon Lindelof wants the show to run two more seasons with a movie finale. They quote Lindelof as saying, "We'd love to end the show after four year, five years tops and do a movie." The news would contradict "Lost" creator JJ Abrams' comments while promoting MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE III, which basically laughed off the possibility of a LOST movie saying, "I honestly don't know what else we would do." I personally don't put much stock in the news, in part because it comes from WENN and part because Lindelof isn't doing any press right now and the quote is attributed to no particular interview or source. That said, he and the "Lost" crew will be at the Comic-Con so rest assured I'll track him down to find out the real scoop as well as exactly what's going on with the start of Season 3.
