2003 Paramount Previews!

AGAINST THE ROPES

Plot: This is a fictionalized drama inspired by the story of Jackie Kallen, the most successful female manager in boxing history. The film stars Meg Ryan as Kallen, Omar Epps as Luther Shaw, her champion-in-the-making, Tony Shalhoub as Midwest boxing kingpin Sam LaRocca, Tim Daly as TV sports reporter Gaven Ross, Charles S. Dutton as veteran trainer Felix Reynolds, whom Kallen coaxes out of retirement, Joe Cortese as Irving Abel, Kallen’s boss and Kerry Washington as Kallen’s friend and co-worker at the Cleveland Coliseum.

BEYOND BORDERS

Plot: This epic tale of the turbulent romance between two star-crossed lovers is set against the backdrop of the world’s most dangerous hot spots and stars Academy Award ® winner Angelina Jolie as Sarah Jordan, an American living in London in 1984. She is married to Henry Bauford (Linus Roache), son of a wealthy British industrialist, when she encounters Nick Callahan (Clive Owen) a renegade doctor, whose impassioned plea for help to support his relief efforts in war-torn Africa moves her deeply. As a result, Sarah embarks upon a journey of discovery that leads to danger, heartbreak and romance in the far corners of the world.

BLACKOUT

Plot: A female police officer (Judd), whose father was a serial killer, and is now investigating a murder finds herself the center of her own investigation when her past lovers start dying at a furious pace (Jackson plays a respected cop and Judd's mentor; Garcia plays a coworker and Jessica's romantic interest). THE CORE

Release Date: March 28, 2003

Plot: Geophysicist Dr. Josh Keyes (Aaron Eckhart) discovers that an unknown force has caused the earth’s inner core to stop rotating, rapidly deteriorating the planet’s magnetic field and causing our atmosphere to literally come apart at the seams. To resolve the crisis, Keyes and a team of gifted scientists journey into the earth in a subterranean craft piloted by “terranauts” (Hilary Swank and Bruce Greenwood) on a mission to detonate a device that will reactivate the core.

DICKIE ROBERTS: FORMER CHILD STAR

Plot: Dickie Roberts (David Spade) is a 35-year old former child star. Now an out-of-work actor turned parking valet, Dickie is desperate to audition for a great role that could revitalize his career, but the part requires him to play a “normal” guy. Problem is, Dickie is anything but normal. He decides to hire a family to adopt him so he can relive his childhood and, in essence, grow up from scratch.

THE FIGHTING TEMPTATIONS

HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS

Plot: When Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson), the how-to girl for Composure Magazine, agrees to write a firsthand account of all the things women do to drive away men, she has to find a guy, make him fall in love with her, then get dumped…all in 10 days. But little does she know that her target, ad agency hottie, Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey), has just made a high-stakes bet with his boss that he can make any girl fall in love with him in 10 days!
