Saw II: Uncut Edition - October 24

Sorry for the delay in news, but I was returning some video tapes. Speaking of returning video tapes, I just returned an old porno called BACKSIDE TO THE FUTURE. In it, a woman travels back in time and has sex with her Mom, her Dad, and herself. Bitchin'! She becomes freaked out, has an orgy with the aforementioned family members and the orgy also includes her present day husband who went back in time to look for her, though it was never explained how the Delorian made it back to present day to transport him back in time. Some things you've gotta overlook. What does this have to do with Saw II: the Uncut Edition? Absolutely nothing; but if your segue doesn't exactly segue, you gotta roll with it.

Includes:

  • Audio Commentary with Series Creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell
  • Commentary with Director Darren Lynn Bousman, Production Designer David Hackl and Editor Kevin Greutert
  • "Making of the Saw Story," Featurette
  • "Making of SAW II" Featurette
  • "Jigsaw" Featurette
  • "A Tribute To Gregg Hoffman" Featurette
  • Director Darren Bousman's Short Film "ZOMBIES"
  • Bonus Trailers
  • Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS-ES 6.1

Art School Confidential - October 10

I was a pretty big fan of GHOST WORLD, so I'm looking forward to this. Strike back with your thoughts about the film below; especially if you've seen it. Does it have sort of the same feel/quirkiness of GHOST WORLD?

Includes:

  • 12 Deleted Scenes
  • Blooper Reel
  • Testimonials
  • Making-of Featurette
  • Sundance Featurette
  • 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • English DD5.1 Surround
  • English, French, Portuguese & Spanish Dolby Surround
  • English, Chinese, French, Portuguese & Spanish subtitles

The Green Mile (SE) - November 14

It's good to see solid special edition treatment for solid movies, with packed to the gills extras and not these so called "special collector's" editions filled with nothing but fluff like "Green Mile's Mouse: The story they didn't want you to know - A mouse relates his trials and tribulations of the onset chaos between...." Well, you get the idea. Michael Clarke Duncan is awesome in this. I only say that so he could get his foot off my throat.

Includes:

  • Commentary by Director Frank Darabont
  • Additional Scenes
  • Walking the Mile: The Making of The Green Mile Documentary
  • Miracles and Mystery: Creating the Green Mile - A 6-Part Documentary Gallery
    • Stephen King: Storyteller
    • The Art of Adaptation
    • Acting on the Mile
    • Designing the Mile
    • The Magic of the Mile
    • The Tail of Mr. Jingles
  • Tom Hanks Make-up Tests
  • Michael Clarke Duncan's Screen Test
  • The Teaser Trailer: A Case Study
  • Theatrical Trailers
  • 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • English & French DD5.1 Surround
  • English, French & Spanish subtitles

Scarface: Platinum Edition - October 3

If you've got a memory like me (let's hope you don't), you forgot that milk DOES NOT belong in the cupboard. But one thing I do remember is that some of the extras on this "Platinum" Edition (as opposed to Uranium or Titanium) has some of the goodies that were available on the prior release of the SCARFACE special edition. Doesn't look like the Plutonium Edition includes that documentary on how it changed the rap game. Because....you know....that shit is worth telling.

Disc 1: Main Feature

  • Scarface Scoreboard: Watch Scarface like never before...keep track of the number of times the "F" word is used and the number of bullets fired
  • 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • English DD5.1 Surround (Producerís Mix)
  • English DTS 5.1
  • French & Spanish Mono
  • English SDH, French & Spanish subtitles

Disc 2: Extra Features

  • Deleted Scenes
  • Making of Scarface: The Video Game
  • The World of Tony Montana: Experience the decadent world of the ultimate gangster in this all-new feature. Revel in Tony's luxurious and extravagant life in the underworld
  • Scarface: The Rebirth: Actor Al Pacino, director Brian De Palma, producer Martin Bregman, and screenwriter Oliver Stone examine the history of Scarface, from the original 1932 classic to shooting the script
  • Scarface: Creating - A fascinating look at the controversial making of Scarface and the triumphs and struggles experienced by its filmmakers, including the filming of the unforgettable chainsaw scene, location changes, the producer's battles to gain an "R" rating and more
  • Scarface: Acting - Al Pacino and other cast members offer insider stories and revealing insights into how these legendary characters were created
