Downey & Ocean's 12 news

02.28.2003

I believe in giving someone a second chance as much as the next guy (even a third chance, for God's sakes), but when someone makes the same mistakes over and over and over again, I generally don't look to them to help me accomplish my own goals, and usually find someone as good/if not better, elsewhere. All that to say...Robert Downey Jr. has been hired again, this time by Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh who recently took over one part of the erotic-themed film EROS, after director Pedro Almodovar dropped out.

The great Alan Arkin will join Downey Jr. in Soderbergh's segment of the film, which will consist of three short movies, two of which will be directed by Michelangelo Antonioni and Wong Kar-wai. The two actors will be shooting their parts with Soderbergh this week, after which the busy director will get back to prepping for OCEAN'S 12, a sequel to the popular OCEAN'S 11, along with his partner George Clooney and producer Jerry Weintraub. The film will be set in Europe this time around, with shooting expecting to begin next February with a possible release in late 2004.
