Knoxville finds love?

The always loveable lug who is Johnny Knoxville is set to star in his first "romantic comedy" alongside the staple of all romantic/comedies nowadays, Selma Blair, as well as the very lovely and talented, Bridget Moynahan. The film called HATING HER is written and will be directed by Thomas Bezucha, a guy who used to be a vice-president with clothing magnate Ralph Lauren, but was chosen as one of the top 10 screenwriters to "watch" by Variety in 2000, after writing/directing his debut entitled BIG EDEN. What's the flick about?

"It's the story of a family uniting in a common cause when a favorite son (Knoxville) comes home for the holidays with his uptight girlfriend (Moynahan). Overwhelmed by the hostile reception, she begs her sister (Blair) to join her for emotional support, triggering further complications."

Sounds like MEET THE PARENTS mixed in with a little HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS to me. Oh well. The supporting cast also sounds pretty decent, so I guess we'll have to wait and see since it only starts shooting next month (budget $10 million). Some of the other players include Donald Sutherland, Maura Tierney, Blythe Danner (MEET THE PARENTS, yo!) and Logan Marshall-Green. I guess only time will tell if Knoxville can leave his psycho behavior days behind and take a shot at the realm of romance comedies.
