Spider-Man 2 writers?
Despite SPIDER-MAN still being a good three months away there's already movement
on the eventual sequel. Unconfirmed reports have it that "Smallville"
writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have been hired to take a first crack at a draft.
While neither Marvel or the writers would comment on their involvement there was no
denial either. It certainly seems like a smart move if you ask me. Here are
guys have worked successfully in the comic-to-screen genre as well as having experience on
big-budget action flicks (LETHAL WEAPON 4, SHANGHAI NOON). I can imagine though that
their draft, if there is one, will only be rewritten (nothing against them, it's just the
process) many times on its way to the screen. The sequel to SPIDER-MAN is
tentatively scheduled to film sometime in mid-2003. Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and
Sam Raimi are all locked in for a second film.
