ACTUALLY . . .

It will be Grindhouse. This is not wishful thinking, because I personally have very little interest in the film. It has been marketed well, and will attract the same audience that made 300 #1.

Bibical or Sadism

The Reaping should do well overall considering their marketing is more towards wider audience rather than just gore. Comedies and superhero flicks seems to be the market trend now, since people not convinced by watered down action flicks like the shooter or sentinel or even the suspense drama like zodiac. Zodiac lacked closure, seriosuly you watch that movie for so long and the ending is typed out?? The shooter had some dumb lines, how can you take villains like this seriously?

As much as I hate to say it...

Are We Done Yet will be the winner this upcoming weekend.

I hope it isn't, but basically it will be.

Blades of Glory will most likely see a sharp drop in gross.

Grindhouse is 3 hours long AND Rated R: Two of the deadliest ingredients for an American movie

This is like the same poll were all the Schmoes voted for Zodiac to be number one the coming weekend. It isnt happening for Grindhouse folks.

While I was working the box office this weekend, one of my customers seeing the long lines we were having asked in a worried way, "How full is Namesake?" I told her that the theater had only sold a few tickets. She was surprised and said, "Oh well there is a huge crowd here tonight. I thought Namesake was the best movie you guys got this week. It had

I told her that the theater had only sold a few tickets. She was surprised and said, "Oh well there is a huge crowd here tonight. I thought Namesake was the best movie you guys got this week. It had great reviews."
I replied very matter-of-factly, "It certainly is the best movie we opened this weekend. Unfortunately that does not mean it is the most popular today."

Chances are it will probably be Are we Done Yet or Blades of Glory again.

Grindhouse?

I know everyone wants Grindhouse to be huge and all, but I have a sinking feeling it just won't. It's over three hours long and I think the vast majority of America won't get the fact that it's two movies. Makes me sad, but you know. Expect dumb comedy to rule the day.
