DVD REVIEW: Max

05.26.2003

DVD Clinic

MAX is a film which takes a hypothetical view at Adolf Hitler's earlier years to see what it was that might've driven this "struggling artist" to become one of the most hated human beings in the history of the world. John Cusack stars as a Jewish art dealer who befriends a young Hitler, played by SHINE's Noah Taylor. The film received a limited release last year and is not the two-bit TV Mini-Series which played on CBS last week starring Begbie (aka Robert Carlyle)-- which incidentally was directed by none other than Christian Duguay (EXTREME OPS, THE ART OF WAR, THE ASSIGNMENT). Weird, eh? Anyhoo, read The Shootin' Surgeon's DVD review below.
