to Crazy Dud

>>That was a bad list of choices, which is apparent when you see that "Other" is in 2nd (it's usually last).

Yeah, but even the LAST movie on our list (RATATOUILLE) has received 61 votes so far, and that is far more than ANY films that all of the "others" have voted for, so in actuality, that was a good list, but obviously we're not gonna list all 400+ movies that were released last year, and we want to hear what others would also have voted for.

Either "Transformers" or "Southland Tales" Anyone who says "I Am Legend" clearly didn't read the book. Because if you did, you would know that that movie was shit! Same goes for "300" such garbage.

Into the Wild.

No Country places second for me, followed by Once, I think.

My list changes from day to day, that's how many good movies came out this year.

Inland Empire and The Darjeeling Limited

Inland Empire and The Darjeeling Limited are my favourites from the year. The two films I had the highest expectations for and they both totally delivered.

Haven't seen No Country for Old Men yet but it sure looks great.

300 and Zodiac were both really good from my point of view but not that great. really strong 3's of 5 or something.

The Mist

The Mist. I'm glad I was one of the few smart people to go and see this great movie.

Zodiac

I'm surprised to see so few people voting for Zodiac. That movie was great. I wonder if all of you saw it. Maybe you'd just have to like realistic dramas. I dunno.

And I hated Superbad. Big Michael Cera fan, but I hated Superbad. Maybe I'd just have to like obscene comedy. I dunno.

Wow...I guess I have to turn in my "schmo" badge. I saw absolutely none of the films listed. Either I'm getting too busy, or 2007 blew.

Since I saw Bourne Ultimatum and loved it, that gets my vote.

Here are my favorite movie*S* of 2007. And in no order:

-The Brave One
-Live Free or Die Hard
-The Bourne Ultimatum
-Eastern Promises
-28 Weeks Later
-The Jane Austen Book Club (you read right)
-30 Days of Night
-No Reservations (go f*ck yourselves)
-Transformers
-Michael Clayton (even with my initial "guh...?" reaction)
-Ocean's Thirteen
-Sicko
-Saw IV (that's right, loved it too!)
-I am Legend (*possibly* the best of the bunch...?)

OKAY

That was a bad list of choices, which is apparent when you see that "Other" is in 2nd (it's usually last).

Zodiac was an utter bore, and, I'm sorry, but all the films Judd Apatow is doing have been done before, and better!

For me, the best of 2007 is tentatively 3:10 to Yuma. I HATE Westerns, but I LOVED this film.

I am seeing Sweeney Todd tomorrow, so we will see if Yuma remains my favorite of the year.

And BTW, 300 was an amateurish MTV-style film (IMO, of course), but to each his

Hard choice

Holy hard choices Batman!

I'd vote for all but Zodiac.
And I'd vote for Juno twice.
But I'd vote for Superbad thrice.

Edit:
Oh I should mention I'd also vote for a shit ton of movies that aren't on this list as well: I am Legend, Beowulf [3D DLP of course], Transformers, Bourne Ultimatum, and Pan's Labyrinth [2007 nationwide]. Of course many I've forgot. Great year for movies and especially great year for videogames.

before the devil knows your dead

If you haven't seen it, you really should, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is a fucking incredible movie, great performances, very suspenseful and involving. I saw it at the Toronto Film Fest and it didn't get a wide release, at least not yet, check it out on DVD when it hits though, it's great.

EXILED

EXILED, directed by Johhnie To. Undeniably the best film of the year! A true throwback to awesome old school Hong Kong shoot-em-ups.

2007 rocked!!

Looking at the indecision for "best film of the year" below (and my own when deciding what topped my chart) really psychs me up. 2007 was a great year for movies, and really that is something to celebrate! The last few years have been major let-downs (discounting sequels) but this year has had many original releases that had us on the edge of our seats. Major pats on the back to Hollywood for revitalizing our interest and to the folks at joblo.com for always keeping us "in the know". Hope

300, 28 Weeks later, Transformers, Live Free or Die Hard and Saw IV. Haven't got to see AVP or Juno yet.

I'm caught mainly between Bourne Ultimatum and, I know it's hard to believe, The Jane Austen Book Club. I don't buy into critically-acclaimed films.

I'd have to go with Transformers and I Am Legend. Both films kept me entertained from start to finish. Sadly I missed a couple good ones like The Mist and 3:10 to Yuma.

2007 was a great year, but three movies come to mind that really knocked me on my ass.

3. The Mist
2. 3:10 to Yuma
1. Gone Baby Gone

Favorite Blockbuster of the Year: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Fun fun year. And this is the first year where my top three range from very different genres (noir, western, horror).

2008's Blockbuster's are gonna blow us all away with films like The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, can't wait to see what

I havent seen many movies this year but my favorites would definitely be Sunshine, Zodiac, 3:10 to Yuma, and my next favorites were movies of '06 but I didn't get to see them until this year and those are Pan's Labyrinth, The Prestige, and The Fountain. Pan's Labyrinth is above all of them, though.

Sunshine

Hands down, Sunshine was the most astonishing movie made this year. Though it gets a little strange towards the end of the film, over all the concept came through 100%
