2 Clover endings

04.07.2008

Cloverfield

While the CLOVERFIELD talk has significantly dwindled since its relentless internet campaign and subsequent release, it's by no means gone. There's the DVD release, the sequel, the DVD re-release, the sequel DVD and about a thousand other things that'll have us talking about CLOVERFIELD until the end of time.

The subject of the article you're currently reading, however, is two alternate endings that we recently made available to you over at our video hub. There's probably SPOILERS so be wary if you haven't seen the film. The DVD release is scheduled for April 22nd.

Eh, those sucked as alternate endings, I was really looking forward to checking these out but hoped there would be at least something that would make the ending really different.

Anyway, thanks for posting these!

Someone would have to have been smokin' some wicked cheeb to think alt. ending #1 would have been better.

And the only difference I saw with alt. ending #2 compared to the theatrical ending was that ending #2 didn't show the satellite hit the water off the beach of the amusement park - which is a very important piece of info.

Those are WAY too minimally different...

While I appreciate the filmmakers' effort to supply good supplemental materials on the film, these "alternate" endings hardly have anything to view them as "alternative" endings to the film. To me, an "alternate" ending needs to change the outcome of a narrative. These just have different events PRIOR to the monster invasion ... and not even events that really change the way the ending of the film works. The short short is that they're pretty lame. Props to JoBlo for posting them so I didn't

What's the big deal?

I notice the difference between the flashbacks, but other than that, these alternate endings aren't too different at all from the actual ending. I really don't notice ANY difference at all between the theatrical ending and alternate ending 2. If you're going to include an alternate ending on a DVD, make sure its at least a significant difference.

These "Alternate Endings" that are like 5 extra seconds with a quick different cut of the same thing at a different angle REALLY annoy me.
