2008 Fox Preview

Dec. 25, 2007by:

After PARAMOUNT/DREAMWORKS and SONY gave us a look a their 2008 movie slates, today it was FOX's turn to show us what they have hiding under their cinematic skirt for the New Year, including the latest from M. Night Shyamalan, Baz Luhrmann, Doug Liman and Vin Diesel?? That's right, the Diesel-nator is back and looking to score again in the action-thriller, BABYLON A.D., directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. I'm looking forward to seeing that one, along with JUMPER, WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS (mostly because I love Vegas!!) and THE HAPPENING. PS: Is Eddie Murphy's STARSHIP DAVE a sequel to PLUTO NASH? Hehehehe.

As per usual, click on any of the pics below for more info on the film, or check out the entire list of 2008 UPCOMING MOVIES. Your thoughts?

Only AUSTRALIA looks good

From what I've read online, AUSTRALIA looks fairly intriguing. It has a great cast (Kidman, Jackman, and David Wenham) and addresses a historic event never even mentioned in any history class: the Japanese bombing of Darwin, Australia (we learned about the siege of Britain, but I guess Australia didn't make the cut).

Other than that, why am I not surprised to see Fox having the WORST slate so far. In fact, when was the last time they made a good movie not based on one of their televised

Walk the Line, in 2005. Of course, I'll never forgive them for butchering Kingdom of Heaven (note to Sir Ridley: if you're going to make a Crusades epic that is sympathetic towards Muslims and progressive Christians, don't turn to a studio owned by the Anti-christ's media mogul--Rupy Mudrock).

wtf?

Holy Codpieces, is that Kevin Sorbo?

I'd see Australia (who can resist Hugh) and 27 Dresses (only 'cuz I've been in about 20 weddings myself).

Let's see:

-Another lame-ass Asian horror remake
-Another sure-to-be-horrible Eddie Murphy movie
-Another lame romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher
-Another lame spoof from "2 of the 6 writers of scary movie"
-A long-delayed Vin Diesel sci-fi-action flick that reminds me too much of Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick

Yep, I am SOOOOOOO looking forward to Fox's lineup next year .

Fox is going to tank, but I think with "Horton..." they'll break even.

The list is very underwhelming. They have none of the movies I really WANT to see. A couple (Jumper, The Happening) look original/interesting, but chances are, if this is all Fox is offering in 2008, then they won't be getting much of my money. If any.

Decent list

Meet the Spartans?
And nothing like getting two lead Aussie's for a movie about Australia!
