Tons o' Punisher

08.21.2003

Wow! If I'm not mistaken, I think I may have just pulled a Linda Blair. Not the projectile vomit bit, but I'm pretty damn sure the old noggin just did a complete 360 while I was trying to wrap my head around the best way to dole out all the PUNISHER news that has surfaced today. So, rather than risk an unnecessary trip to the bone doctor (or a Priest if it happens again), I'm just gonna dive right in and hope it's not too shallow.

  • First up, it appears that there was a miscommunication between FilmForce and their source regarding the casting of Tom Nowicki as the albino assassin, Tombstone, which we shared with you folks last week. The site is now reporting that Nowicki has indeed been cast as a bad guy in the film, and his name is in fact Lincoln, but he's not the Lonnie Lincoln (aka Tombstone). In addition to the original scooper clarifying his statement, a friend of the actor wrote in to the site to point out that "Tom is 6' tall, [with] long blond hair, slim build, blue eyes, very fair skinned. He's not bulked up at all."
  • Secondly, there were rumors floating around a couple of days ago that WWE superstar Kevin Nash had landed a role in THE PUNISHER and had to cut his trademark blond locks to get the job. Well, that buzz appears to be entirely true. According to WrestlingDotCom, Hulk Hogan - that's right, the Hulkster himself - confirmed the gossip on a radio show recently when he commented on Nash's new hairdo and alluded to the fact that 'Big Sexy' would be playing (and this is a stretch) a pro wrestler in the film. Hogan also revealed that he will have a brief cameo as well.
  • and last but not least, Yahoo! is reporting that a release date of April 16, 2004 has been set for the film.
