The H is for Hollywood

09.16.2003

Joining the ranks of such wrestling superstars before him as Hulk Hogan, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, The Rock and most recently, Kevin "Big Sexy" Nash (who has nabbed a role THE PUNISHER), consummate tough guy Triple H (aka Paul Levesque) has landed roles in a couple of high profile big screen films. It was officially announced today that the "Cerebral Assassin" has joined Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel and the rest of the cast of BLADE: TRINITY for director David Goyer. It was also reported that he will have the honor(?) of heading up the cast of the first ever film for Vince McMahon's recently launched WWE Films, in a modern western entitled JORNADA DEL MUERTE (Journey of Death). The film will take place in the Southwest and involve motorcycle gangs, drug trafficking and broken codes of honor (sounds like an episode of RAW, from what I recall). Now, before any of you anti-wrestling types (I'm not a huge fan myself, to be honest) write this off as "just a wrestling movie", there is one really interesting thing to take note of; The film is being written by John Milius, the man behind such classics as APOCALYPSE NOW, CONAN THE BARBARIAN and RED DAWN. That's got to at least pique your interest.

John Milius is also credited as being the one who coined the now infamous Dirty Harry line "Go ahead, make my day!"
