The Hangover is rated R and will not make as much as LOTL or Up. R-rated films tend to fare especially poorly during the summer, unless Apatow's name is attached to it. LOTL is definitely a studio gamble. I really don't know how well it's going to do. Up will continue to rake in money.

People who vote on these don't seem to understand that you're voting for what you think WILL win at the box office, not what you think SHOULD win.

Critical acclaim has very little to do with box office success. Wouldn't you agree that The Hangover can afford to open at #3 with 25 million. It has to be the smallest budget of the 3.

the hangover will make dough and have legs all summer but itll probably not get number 1. unless the fact that lotl and up are family movies it could end up hurting both and letting hangover slide in. who knows? i wanna see both as well as both from last weekend haha i got some catching up to do. maybe just go all day and just keep going from movie to movie haha

What Goes UP Must Come Down...

...and Lost dinos will beat a Hangover every time. Family-friendly action-adventure flicks will always rule the boxoffice, especially Land of the Lost which has built-in brand recognition for a generation of Xers who grew up watching the saturday morning kids show.

Last but not least is the T-Rex factor. No bones about it, dinosaurs are eternally cool to the kiddies and will draw in families like a moth to the flame.

So, next week, don't be surprised when the boxoffice chart

So, next week, don't be surprised when the boxoffice chart reads:

1. LOTL
2. Up
3. The Hangover

Nuff said.

Is not a surprise, many have seen it and loved it

Ummmm...bramb600 you'd be surprised. I had a screening ticket for it 2 weeks ago though I couldn't attend, my friends did and they and the audience they saw it with seemed to loved it. They told me is a great comedy. They even had a Q&A with Bradley Cooper. I'd be seeing it tomorrow night as another special screening. Odds are it could end up in at least the #2 spot next week, UP of course still owning the #1 spot.

THE HANGOVER???

Most people picked The Hangover. Seriously, there's no way that will be #1. Probably #3.
