Angels & Demons was one of the major releases of the summer (and #1 worldwide with $400M and counting). So why isn't it in the list?

It was my fav as a "summer movie". Dumb, action packed, thrilling and fast.

Best movie so far: The Hangover. Just all around funny.

Worst movie so far: Star Trek. You need to be on Ritalin in order to enjoy that plotless, badly acted crapsterpiece.

I'm a big horror movie fan so I gotta go with Drag Me to Hell....loved it! Then it'd be Star Trek and Up.

UP

Best movie of the summer goes to Up in my book. Fantastic all around. Star Trek and Drag Me To Hell follow it. Those 3 are in a class above the rest of the summer movies this year.

Best movie of the year so far still belongs to Watchmen. Loved the movie and It's a fantastic adaptation of the comic for me. Up is right behind it for this year's best so far.

I too think Adventureland was the best movie so far this year. Most underrated flick since The Girl Next Door back in '04.

As for best of the summer? Up and The Hangover are tied. I couldnt stop smiling for hours after i saw Up and i almost shit myself laughing during The Hangover.

Up

Star Trek loses points for employing the TV-appropriate Bourne-esque technique a little too much.

And seriously, any big summer movie with the guts to make two of its main characters old farts who aren't charicatures deserves recognition.

Drag Me to Hell

Easy. Star Trek was fun, but it had a lot of flaws: weak villain. UP was brilliant, but obvious. Drag Me to Hell is the only other perfect movie. Maybe that'll change with Hang Over. Haven't seen it yet.

So many great flicks

I've seen Up, Drag Me to Hell, Wolverine, Star Trek and Terminator Salvation, and I enjoyed all of them almost equally (well, Terminator Salvation and Wolverine were a bit lower than the other 3 but...still). But I'd have to say Up is the best of the bunch and probably the best I've seen all year. I won't be seeing Dance Flick or Land of the Lost, but I can't wait to see The Hangover sometime this week!

Oh, the choices!

I feel REALLY bad for abandoning Drag Me to Hell for my number 1 spot, but I kept going back and forth between that and Star Trek... and Star Trek was just too good of a movie to leave it out.

Agreed with John Locke. Also, Adventureland is the best film I've seen this year.

I love seeing Trek be so god damn popular.. that movie kicked all sorts of ass and I'm glad people liked it too.

UP and Star Trek shit all over everything that came out this summer. Nothing is even close (haven't seen the Hangover yet)

Adventureland

But Funny People beats it, but I'm not allowed to say I've seen that yet.

tough

It was really hard to choose between Star Trek and Up, but I went with Star Trek. I haven't seen The Hangover yet though.

Star Trek, then The Hangover in second. Glad it killed at the box office this weekend.
