Inglorious

maybe it's too new and not enough people saw it yet to vote for it... but, for me, that is tied for Number 1 with the Hurt Locker.

A toss-up between WATCHMEN (that was a summer movie to me), TERMINATOR SALVATION, (500) DAYS OF SUMMER, and HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE. And others too, but those bunch stand just a little bit taller.

QUENTIN

Up and The Hangover were the best of the options listed, but the best movie of the summer was far and away:

Kathryn Bigelow's THE HURT LOCKER

Movie geeks need to get behind this because it's an incredible movie, maybe the best action pic of the decade, and hasn't made its well-deserved dent in the box-office yet.

Why is Moon not on this list? It was the best film of the summer. Hell, perhaps of the year. And that's not even over yet.

You guys here at Joblo want original movies... Moon is exactly that.

This was a very weak summer. Probably the worst in over 10 years.

I'm really surprised that District 9 is getting so much love. I thought it was really good, but it wasn't anything spectacular, in my opinion of course.

Moon

Moon was a return to sci-fi that hasn't been seen in a long, long time. Unfortunately, it didn't get the financial backing it needed for a wider release or even decent advertisement.

Anyway, Moon was the best film so far this year.

Seriously?

More love for Transformers 2 than Drag me to Hell? I personally thought Raimi's latest outing was fantastic.

Definately. I'm thinking it has to do with the amount of people that have seen Transformers vs. those that have seen Drag Me to Hell. I think many people didn't even give Drag Me a chance because it didn't feature robots, explosions, and Megan Fox. Shame, because it's the closest thing to an Evil Dead 4 we may ever recieve.

The only reason D9 and Basterds is number 1 and 2 is because they just came out.
D9 was cool but not nearly as great as fanboys make it out to be.

I voted Star Trek, it was the biggest surprise and best summer blockbuster i could ask for. It had me feeling similar to how i felt after i saw Iron Man in theaters. I cant wait for the sequel.

Went with D9, but I live too far away from anywhere with Moon or The Hurt Locker, which both look great. And I know this isn't the typical Schmoe style, but Julie & Julia was better than most of the movies on this list.

I went with District 9...

... though Inglorious Basterds and Up made that a hard decision. Thank God District and Basterds came at the ass end of summer to make up for such a crappy previous three months. This, overall, was one of the crappiest summers for movies I can recall.

Inglourious Basterds

Definitely Inglourious Basterds. I haven't had that much fun seeing a film in theaters since probably The Dark Knight. Seriously, such an amazing movie.

My second place pick is District 9. I didn't think there would be a movie that would beat it until The Lovely Bones and/or Avatar, but Inglourious Basterds did.

STAR TREK

Followed by The Hangover, Inglourious Basterds and District 9. This summer was extremely polarizing. Everything was either really great or nauseatingly terrible...

Even after Inglorious Basterds and District 9, it's gotta be Star Trek. Best movie of the summer in every way.

Caught 'The Hurt Locker' while on vacation. Amazing. Best movie I've seen all summer. Inglourious Basterds also kicked ass.

Wow

I really haven't seen many flicks of "Los Summer". Actually none of those yet. And of those, only 500 Days, Basterds and Drag Me To Hell are the only ones I want to see.

500 Days of Summer

500 Days of Summer was by far my favorite movie of the summer and possibly the year. Hopefully, more people vote for it because it truly was an amazing movie.
