300: Rise of an Empire and All You Need Is Kill have been pushed back

May. 10, 2013by:

Were you looking forward to seeing 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE and ALL YOU NEED IS KILL? Hope not because both have been pushed back.

It's not due to reshoots or anything like that. Simply seems like a strategic move. I guess they decided it was not best to pit the 300 sequel against 2 GUNS starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. People will definitely see that, but I think that 300 has a fair chance here especially with the love for the first film. You won't be seeing it this year at all. It was originally slated for August 2nd but will now debut on March 7, 2014. The first film came out in March too. The only film they have to worry about with that is the animated update of Mr. PEABODY AND SHERMAN.

Doug Liman's sci-fi flick ALL YOU NEED IS KILL starring Tom Cruise was moved from March to June 6, 2014. For some reason they thought it would be better to release it the same weekend as TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. But it has Tom Cruise so I have no worries. A butt ton of people will go see TMNT though no matter how much everyone is distraught by it.

Which of these movies were you looking forward to seeing? Are you disappointed by the 300 switch?

My guess is the usual reason.... movie is complete shit, so they push it back to some time where it won't stomped out by other superior flicks, while they try to "fix" this clusterfuck as much as possible.

Of course, a person would like to see 300: Rise of an Empire sooner rather than later. But, Mom used to say, "Sometimes, it's nice not to get what you want. It gives you something to look forward to." I suppose that one can take Mom's advice to look on the sunny side. Besides, Rise of an Empire premieres now in the same month as Noah. We movie-watchers can compare the two.

I think it's better to have a sequel premier the same time as the original. 300 is a spring movie!
All You Need is Kill is more of a summer movie, I guess - and I really hope they change the title.

Amazing that sometimes just the release day can decide the success of a movie!

I guess they pushed 300 back because they thought they needed more Channing Tatum

The mech suit in All You Need Is Kill just shames the one Matt Damon wears in Elysium. Not saying Elysium looks bad at all, but the suit blows in a side by side comparison.

Damn!

I really was looking forward to 300 this year. Say what you want, but if it's anything like the first it should be epic, mindless, violent fun.

A big resounding MEH to this news. Those are two movies that were barely on my radar. 300 2 looks good enough but I'm in no rush to see it. If anything I'll wait for it on Netflix. And All You Need is Kill is not a huge deal, they're only pushing it back a few months and I wasn't even looking forward to it, I wasn't even aware of the original release date until this article. I thought it was coming out the end of this summer. Either way, it's going to get crushed by TMNT now. Niki is

Niki is right, as much as people are bitching about it, TMNT is going to be the box office winner that weekend.

still cant say it with a straight face

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", I mean seriously? by the title alone it should be on the Syfy channel real soon with other masterpieces like "Piranhaconda'", "Dinocroc" and "Mansquito", the title by itself makes it embarrassing. "dude did you see the new teenage mutant ninja turtle movie? Donatello kicked ass man" wow so sad someone over 18 years old will be saying that

What are you talking about? That's its original name. Have you never heard of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? It had a crazy name before crazy names were cool, and before they were abused and beaten to the ground. How old are you, anyway? Because if you can't enjoy silly things after the age of 18 I feel truly sorry for you. What a dull life that must be.

Really looking forward to All You Need Is Kill so even though it was pushed back it's not like it was pushed back a year like the prequel to 300.

I'm ready for my next Sci-Fi Tom Cruise film after the greatness that was Oblivion.
