i dont care what a lot of you say... Paranormal Activity was a fantastic horror movie and Inglorious Basterds was a dissappointment.

People say PA sucked, simply because it was an uncoventional horror movie, and people only like IB becuase it was a QT movie. IMO, QT has fallen off BIG TIME from his reign of the 90's. Inglorious Basterds would be my favorite movie if i have insomnia, because it is a SNOOZER!

I'm torn between Avatar and District 9. Watchmen and Up also both hold a special place in my heart. Avatar and Up touched me emotionally. District 9 was awesomely unique. And Watchmen has a very specific nostalgia factor for me.

District 9 was the most overrated movie of the year. i thought it was a decent film that would've been better if they lost that annoying lead actor. i give it props for a unique story and awesome second half but i wanted to beat the crap out of the character if i ever heard him speak again. Inglorious Basterds is number 1 in my book, though.

2. The Hangover

These results are pretty much the inverse of how I feel...

Star Trek, Inglourious Basterds, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Where the Wild Things Are, and Up in the Air (as well as Coraline, Precious, and The Princess and the Frog to name a few) are spectacular movies that I can see having a lasting impression rather than just be flavor of the moment...

...Moon, The Hangover, The Hurt Locker, Zombieland, The Road, Paranormal Activity, and Sherlock Holmes are all films I haven't seen yet (and I would like to see all of them except for Hangover and Paranormal

...and Avatar was nothing special, just an elaborate 3 hour effects reel, (500) Days of Summer was creative and cute but nothing too amazing, Up has the most emotionally complex plot of any Pixar movie but it falls apart after the stunning opening, Drag Me to Hell was a lot of fun but not something I would consider to be 'good' or a favorite, Adventureland was a kinda flat and unexciting movie with great music, and District 9 and Watchmen would never make my top anything (unless of course the lists were 'Top Overrated Films of the Year' and 'Top Bastardizations of Decent Source Material of the Year respectively).

Tough year for a fanboy

I picked District 9. I think that this movie reminded me of the way I felt after watching the original Matrix, or Dark City. It was the one movie that I just wanted to walk in and watch it again right away. Still haven't seen Moon, because it wasn't near me, but I pre-ordered it and may be singing a different tune after getting to view it.

Wow!

I can't believe Inglorious Basterds is number one, that was the most boring piece of crap I've seen this year, I fell asleep for most of the film just coudln't stay awake listening and reading subtitles, hate all you want, all I gotta say is... freedome of speech.

By the way, where's Wolverine? that film was better tha allot of films on the list.

You can't judge a film if you haven't seen the whole thing and if reading is too hard for you then grow up.

G.I. Joe the Rise of Cobra. Yeah go ahead and hate me for this. I expected nothing from the movie but it was a hell of a fun popcorn action movie.
