MOVIE POLL: So what did you think of the Oscars show last night?

So what did you think of the Oscars show last night?

It was awesome! Best I've seen in years!
Good, but not great!
It was so-so. Some good spots, some bad spots.
'Same old, same old' if you ask me.
Worse than usual.
Boring as shit. Least interesting that I've seen in some time.

Only really watched for about an hour before I went to work. Just like every other year, a big "meh", combined with a "they waste too much time" and a good dose of, "GUH, big shock on that win", mixed with "shut up already... just take your naked man and fuck off!"... and don't forget to add, "Man, this is SO not for me. Were I in that situation, I'd never fucking go... ever." (and I mean that too)

You forgot: "Didn't watch it, don't care"

The Oscars haven't been interesting in decades...long speeches, filler crap, bad hosts. Sorry...love movies, hate the Oscar ceremony.

I haven't watched the Oscars for years. Once I realized that it's has nothing to do with the quality of the films, well, it never felt like it was worth watching after that.

This year was predictable and uninspiring. Avatar and Hurt Locker? Those were the best movies of the year? Alright, if you say so. Neither of those movies will be in my home collection, and it's no skin off my back who wins or loses, but please stop trying to pass yourself off as the be all end all of movies. I think

I think 1996 was probably the last good year for the Oscars. Not the most popular, but the last year where all the movies nominated deserved their nominations. I still think the academy got it wrong that year and it should have gone to Secrets and lies, but I at least understand why the English Patient won. And there have been some good years between now and then for the Oscars but... I don't know. I just don't believe in them anymore.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Just thought I would spend my 2 cents.

Inglorious

Basterds we're robbed across the board. Deserved director, screenplay, and cinematography.

I didn't watch it. Instead, I popped in Pixar's The Incredibles and watched that instead.

Yes it was stupid to have twilighters introduce the horror segment, however we all know the reasons behind it. The academmy wanted younger stars (zak efron, amanda seyfreid, miley cyrus, kristen stewart, and taylor lautner) to bring in a younger audience to watch. it was a smart move on their part whether we like it or not. as far as the tribute goes, yes some clips were not horror (new moon) but i am just really happy they included it at all. Horror films are always ignored at the oscars so

They got rid of the musical performances but instead had a stupid dance crew for the fucking scores?

and leaving out Farrah Fawcett out of the Memoriam for someone who was hardly in movies at all was a stupid decision.

I did like them having co-stars or former co-stars introduce the Best Actor/Actress nominees.

Pretty lame

I've never cared for award shows...ever. But I ended up watching that load of crap last night. Aside from Martin/Baldwin, Fey/Downey Jr., The Hughes Tribute, the show was boring as hell...The horror tribute was a fucking joke! Yeah they threw in some great clips to great movies, but watered it down with stuff I would never consider horror.

To me the BIGGEST Offense was having Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart introducing the TRIBUTE TO HORROR segment when there were so many more deserving and suitable choice who have actually CONTRIBUTED to the genre who should have presented....albeit it it was a very weak and sad tribute

Totally agree, I was saying the exact same thing at the time. And then they even showed a clip from fucking twilight in the damn montage. Ridiculous. Though it was obvious they were looking solely at true horror movies. I mean I love me some Young Frankenstein but it is not horror -- just a parody of it.

Was pretty stoked to see Horror get a completely random, but overdue send up. And they didn't skimp on the clip show.

Me too. Except for that totally out of place scene from "New Moon". What were they thinking, putting it there on the clip?? It isn't even a horror movie!

Awesome

I thought it was a great show, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were hilarious and so were Tina Fey and Robert Downey Jr. The John Hughes memorial was great and I didnt have to hear James Cameron speak once! So all in all it was awesome.

Jeff Bridges acceptance speech was the highlight for me.I have fond memories of his father Lloyd Bridges starring in his 1975-'76 Cop drama series "Joe Forrester" that was a good show.

Im glad The Hurt Locker won alot of awards last night, including Best Picture. Maybe this will finally shut up all the Avatar fans once and for all

Star Wars didnt win best picture. More than 30 years later, fans are still talking about it.
