Not a single nomination for Scott Pilgrim, one of the most innovative films of the year.

Javier Bardem

owned Biutiful. Collin Firth did an amazing job as well, but Bardem should've won it. never for a second thought it would go that way though. Still not sure how Annette Benning was even nominated. Just goes to show that movies about homosexuals and period peices are shoo ins for nominations.

While I voted for Fincher not winning, I also think it was BS in the first place that Chris Nolan didn't get a Director nomination nor did Inception in the Editing category. The editing of Inception is a hallmark for that film.

Fincher was a snub. Hooper's "direction" was definitely not any better than The Social Network. You can argue the merits of the films (and while I prefer TSN and think TKS was a bit oscarbaitish)... but the direction in TKS was pretty pedestrian at best. A good movie, just not best picture material.

Inception wasn't an original screenplay though, it was stolen/copied/adapted from a Donald Duck comic. Seriously. Google it.

Watching the broadcast really reminded me why I don't particularly care for Anne Hathaway. Maybe it was the terrible material she was given, but still her delivery was beyond terrible. Whenever she announced someone she sounded so fake and not sincere at all. Reminds me why I am not thrilled with her being cast as Catwoman. At least Franco realized everything about the show sucked so he probably got high as kite before and didn't care at all during the show.

As for the biggest snub what about Aronofsky? Not just this year but EVERY year he is nominated. The man has such a unique vision and is a master of his craft yet he gets no recognition from the Academy. Is he going to have to wait till he is old and gray like Marty did? Black Swan wasn't my favorite Aronofsky film but I don't get how The Kings Speech is better directed than the visual beauty that is Black Swan. Hell I haven't even seen The Social Network but I know that Fincher deserves that award more than Hooper too.

I share your fears bout Hathaway. At least he didnt get Katie Holmes to play Catwoman, but I fear we are getting another soft beauty trying to act tough, like Berry. If only they had gotten Blunt or Cotillard or some other spunky lady. Sure hope Nolan proves me wrong, but I would hate to see the end of the trilogy ruined by another lame Catwoman. Even just Hathaway eyes seem to me to have the completely wrong shape, they are droopy when they should be feline. I also agree about Aronofsky, at

Hathaway is a beautiful actress but she just seems so innocent and weak. She was giggling ling a little school girl on stage and just didn't look confident at all. These are all the exact opposite traits that Catwoman should be. Catwoman is sexy, tough and above all confident. I just don't get that feeling from Hathaway at all. Lets hope she pulls a Ledger and surprises us all, although I was never worried about Ledger turning in a great performance.

David Fincher should have an Oscar for best director, but it shouldn't be for 'The Social Network.' Not taking anything away from 'TSN,' but his actual direction ahs been better in 'Seven,' 'Fight Club,' + 'Zodiac.'

Nolan not winning Screenplay was the disappointment of the night. everything else that won was spot on.

127 Hours not winning a damn thing.

I mean c'mon the Editing, Score, and "If I Rise" MADE THAT MOVIE. If there was a Best Soundtrack award it should have won that too.

So boring

Oscars need to go back to having comedians host the show. Ricky Gervais was hilarious when he hosted the globes and gave the show a relaxed feel. Last night all I saw was boring millionaires acting like they split the atom.

Inception not getting Original Screenplay

The Best Original Screenplay Oscar is the Academy's "apology" award (what they'd give Best Picture if they had any guts), and this year that film should have been Inception. That was an incredible film and should have received more love than just the technicals.

Putting the handcuffs on Banksy ranks a close second.

Too many to name

- Eisenberg over Firth
- The Social Network over The King's Speech
- Nolan over Hooper
- Inception over The King's Speech for Original Screenplay

As per usual, the academy sh!t the bed.

For me, the biggest snub was Jennifer Lawrence not winning best actress. I'm a fan of Natalie Portman but think she gets nominated for some of her worst roles (Black Swan and Closer). Her character in Black Swan was an over-the-top one dimensional caricature. The showy type of performance that usually wins awards so it didn't surprise me. I think it's a huge snub that Jennifer Lawrence also lost the Independent Spirit Awards to Portman. What a joke. I would have expected the spirit awards

I would have expected the spirit awards to recognize great acting over the overblown artifical characters. As for Annette Benning, I thought she was great in The Kids Are All Right but Jennifer Lawrence 100% deserved to win.

Of those, I said the Inception screenplay not winning. But I also think Inception was the best movie of the year (even though it didn't stand a chance of winning), and in my opinion, the BIGGEST snub of the night was Hailey Steinfeld not winning Best Supporting Actress. True Grit would not have been half the film it was, were it not for her.

Don't Get Me Wrong

I thought King's Speech was a well acted movie and I am glad Colin won...but I just thought the Inception screenplay had more going for it.

Absolutely. The fact is Inception (the concept of it, which obviously originates from the screenplay) was the most original of all of the nominees and should have won.

How about the audience being snubbed, because the show was really boring and predictable this year.

A lot of snubs, but...

...whatever Banksy had planned was really the only opportunity for this year's Oscars to be truly memorable.
