That fact that It's a Wonderful Life is only a few votes ahead of Batman Returns or Jingle All the Way makes me want to hire an Internet detective so that I can track down people and give them a swift kick to the nuts and then ban them from voting or appearing in public.

BTW- Merry Christmas!

impossible to pick just one

this poll should be the one exception to the role where you can pick multiple.
1:Christmas vacation
2:Die Hard
3:Home alone
4:A Christmas Story
5:Gremlins
6:Lethal Weapon

A Muppet Family Christmas

Way, way, way better than a Muppets Christmas Carol.

What the Hell, man? How can Santa Cums Twice not be a choice? I call "Ballocks." That's British-talk for "balls."

gotta go with "Christmas Story" just for nostalgic purposes, but "DIe Hard" is an overall favorite, so I'd place them both in first.

It's not my favorite, but only because I'm frankly shocked at its absence...

L.A. CONFIDENTIAL.

"Who are you?" "The Ghost of Christmas Past."

Dude, you've got to let us users vote more than one. I'd love to vote 3: Die Hard, Batman Returns and The Long Kiss Goodnight.

It's too hard to just have one favorite. Scrooged was great, and so was Die Hard! Now I have a machine gun! HO HO HO! I also liked Trapped in Paradise with Nic Cage and Dana Carvey (was that a Thanksgiving movie?) Can't believe no one mentioned "Santa Claus The Movie" with Dudley Moore or, Santa Claus with Tim Allen.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Just Friends in my post when describing my own favorite Christmas flicks. The movie is hilarious and really underrated. Also, I live in Jersey so it makes the movie that much better. Will definitely be watching it again before Christmas.

It's not my favourite Christmas movie but I think 'The Holiday' deserves a mention. There's a warm quality to it that I love and although I'm not a huge fan of Cameron Diaz, I feel that the entire cast had great chemistry together and made it really watchable.

I voted Christmas Vacation, but next year that will change to A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. Anything with a half-naked Paula Garces surrounded by Christmas decorations saying, "Fuck a baby into me!" gets my vote.

Really?

Am I the only one on this site who has seen The Ref? 18 f-in votes for Ernest Save Christmas? I have no hope for humanity. I love me Ernest movies, but that one was unbearable to watch. And obviously the 50 people who have already voted for Jingle all the Way have absolutely no idea what a good film is. Probably the same morons who enjoy the Twilight series. What a joke.

I know, right? I have never heard of such a Christmas. Sex and drugs and women being set on fire! I'll allow Die Hard top honors here, but I voted for The Ref. It's got everything I want in a Christmas movie. Denis Leary covered in urine, 18th Century French Huguenot, drunk Santa, and J.K. Simmons.

Even more shocking was that 3 people gave me a thumbs down on this when I looked back this morning. Apparently they're huge Arnold fans and couldn't stand what I wrote. "What is the matter with you? I thought Mothers were sweet and nice a-a-and Patient. I know loan sharks who are more forgiving than you. Your husband ain't dead, lady. He's hiding."

Edward Scissorhands

Can't believe Batman Returns made this list over Edward Scissorhands... that said from movies posted, Batman Returns would be my favorite but my all time favorite movie that takes place around Christmas is Edward Scissorhands.

I voted for Gremlins. Will always be my favorite movie that takes place around Christmas. Always feel like a kid again while watching it.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Batman Returns, Die Hard, Just Friends, and Bad Santa round out my top six.

Digging the expanded choices for the movie poll! Sometimes it's a bit limited, but this one is great. It's always going to be Die Hard for me, followed closely by A Muppet Christmas Carol (then the two Home Alones....)

There are so many good picks. I think In Bruges is more New Years isn't it? But it's my pick. Either that or Lethal Weapon. Now, Christmas Movie pick would be A Miracle on 34th Street.
