Kill Bill yaaawn...

04.08.2004

I'm not even sure why I'm writing this up as a "news article" since the newly launched KILL BILL: VOLUME II website really isn't much to crow about, but many of you are excited about the film and have emailed us, wondering when the heck the official site is gonna be up, so there you have it...the site is now up! That said, Miramax seems to be showing this film about as much love as their genre division, Dimension Films, did BELOW and EQUILIBRIUM a couple of years ago (well, okay...maybe not that LITTLE, but you get what I'm saying) with more TV ads announcing the f*ckin' DVD release of VOLUME I, than the coming of one of the most anticipated movies of the year!! This is actually one of the first times that I could remember a studio's lack of marketing/promotion somewhat "cooling" my enthusiasm for the film. Maybe that's their strategy? I doubt it.

Sure...I'm still gonna see it and all, but c'mon guys...build it up a little, it's PART 2 to Quentin Tarantino's friggin' epic kung-fu spaghetti Asian love-fest and all you're telling me is that BEST BUY is gonna have DVD copies of VOLUME I on Tuesday? Meh. For anyone who gives a crap, head on over to the OFFICIAL WEBSITE for a tiny gallery of pictures (we've got more photos in our own dinky JoBlo.com PREVIEW SECTION!), a handful of wallpapers, "coming soon" notices here and there (Cast and crew section???? C'mon man...I can whip that out in 10 minutes myself!) and a lame-ass "car game" for Elle Driver. Yawns all around and a big thumbs down for the promotion on this movie. If the movie does happen to tank (which I still doubt), I'm putting the blame squarely on the shoulders of Miramax and their piss-poor marketing so far. Yeah, I'm pissed because I love, man...I love!! PS: In case you're still not aware...the film opens next Friday, April 16th.
