Other . . .

The best one hasn't been made. It would be the sequel to the CGI film w/ a kickass 'Revenge of Shredder' plot . . . My 2nd favorite would be a tie between the original live action flick and the CGI flick . . . Haven't seen or read anything else minus the live action sequel w/ Vanilla Ice, which sucked, in spite of an awesome Shredder outfit . . .

Wise man say forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for Michael Bay movies.

In my childhood I grew up on the comics and the 90's animated series.
But I really dig the 2007 all-CGI TMNT movie.

The thing that pissed me off is that after that goddamn CGI movie came out a few years ago, there were these new fans exclusively referring to them as TMNT- something I've never said in my goddamn life except in mockery or example of those tools. It's TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!!!

Why isn't the fourth movie, TMNT an option? It's by far the best of the movies, so why isn't it an option? The fact that "Other...specify below" has way more votes than the terrible third "Turtle in Time" movie should tell you something. Please do your homework next time Joblo. TMNT should have been an option on this poll.

First film

Go now! watch the first film, it really holds up and it's not very kiddie. It was hard because the original series owns my childhood. The comic is a much different animal and I think with so many adult lovers of TMNT, it's time for an adult version. Love the ink blood!

Original comics, of course.

All other iterations of the TMNT are kiddy-fied.

there was a comic book version called "Souls winter" i read long ago, that was awesome...it was in black and white, and featured the turtles as these big hulking, muscle bound snapping turtles. instead of masks, they had different tribal marks and all had only swords as weapons as opposed to the different ones the originals had. They fought the foot ninja clan in a dark, snow-covered forest. it was so bleak, and so utterly violent and to this day is still the best version i've seen of them.

Only downside was that they lacked personality. but they made up for it with an ultra stylized, streamlined look. would LOVE to see that version done...will never happen though. most people probably never even saw that version...BUT the first movie was great in its own right, so Id have to rank it # 2...

The 2nd movie was the best! Vanilla Ice & Super Shredder! It had more of a FUN vibe to it.. the first movie is phenomenal, and was actually really dark for a kids movie. But there was something about that second movie that was just great! Toka & Razar, Michaelangelo had great jokes... and KENO!

My favorite incarnation of the turtles is the 2007 TMNT movie. That movie, and it's animation studio (IMAGI) is extremely underrated.

First Live Action Film

It's very tough, between the first movie and the 90s animated series(so epic!) but you gotta give the movie the edge. Entertainment like that doesn't come along very often. It's just really good shit. Iconic, classic, however you want to put it. The kind of stuff that defined my childhood.

The comic was the best hands down. It was much more grittier and raw. Plus it's the origination. Unfortunately, I think the majority of the people on this site weren't old enough to know about that series when it came out (of course I could be wrong). I did enjoy the animated movie Turtles Forever that came out a couple of years ago, that tied in the comic, original animated, and 2nd series animated Turtles all together.

What Jim Henson's Creature Shop did with turtles in the first live action movie holds up to any amount of CGI that Hollywood's money can buy. The first movie had real emotion, Comedy, Darkness, and a story that doesn't assume the audience are idiots. The new movie doesn't have to pander to kids, kids will get it. Wanna know how I know, I was a kid when the first movie came out.

The first film. The first animated series hasnt aged very well. The second animated series on CW4Kids was pretty good for awhile but it kept getting dumbed down for younger kids
