A new writer finds himself trapped by The Twilight Zone

It was reported last year that Matt Reeves (LET ME IN, CLOVERFIELD) had signed on to direct THE TWILIGHT ZONE, a new film version that will streamline several episodes into a single narrative, from a script by Jason Rothenberg

That script was then revised by Anthony Peckham (SHERLOCK HOLMES, INVICTUS), but for whatever reason Warner Bros. has passed the baton on to one Joby Harold (AWAKE).  Word is that Warner Bros. has been looking for "a sci-fi-friendly scribe to get the script into shooting shape, as the studio views the pic as a potential tentpole," which fits as Harold currently has ALL YOU NEED IS KILL in active pre-production (starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt) with Doug Liman (THE BOURNE IDENTITY) set to direct.

Hopefully we'll be hearing more from THE TWILIGHT ZONE soon.

Extra Tidbit: Rod Serling, creator of the original "Twilight Zone," also wrote the original PLANET OF THE APES. Because when you're a storytelling genius, why stop with a revolutionary TV show?

Yea not feeling this anymore. Sounds like a bad M. Night film.

They could easily have made this into a Sin City type story with sci fi/mystery elements.

A streamlined Twilight Zone movie? No thanks, I'd prefer a bunch of different stories that somehow connect with one another.

A streamlined Twilight Zone seems pointless...the worlds were almost exclusively insulated from one another episode to episode. Why fix what works?

I'd prefer another anthonlogy as well. This time though, actually do them all right and good, like they did with Nightmare at 20,000 feet.

Aw man...

I was hoping they'd bring back another Twilight Zone movie, but i wish it'd be like the old one where it's separate stories by different directors. Chris Nolan, JJ Abrams, Guillermo Del Toro
