Warrior. That movie deserved a hell of a lot more business and critical praise. That has really become one of them movies that whenever it is on I must watch it.

The 13th Warrior is pretty awesome. But I voted for Carter. It didn't deserve all the hate.

Green Lantern is an AWESOME movie despite all the negative buzz. I can respect if you didn't like it for what it was, but I LOVED every minute of it. It is not as bad as alot of people say it is and it deserves alot more credit. It is one of my favorite movies of all time and I would LOVE to get a sequel with Reynolds and co. returning.

My second and third picks would be John Carter and Speed Racer.

John Carter is the ONLY film on that list that doesn't flat out suck. John Carter may not be great but it deserved better box office.

I'll avoid movies that were critical successes but box office flops like Scott Pilgrim, Serenity, or Grindhouse.

But of actual turkeys...terrible box office AND terrible reviews....I gotta go with 2009's Land of the Lost. IMO a Hilarious big budget PG-13 quasi-stoner comedy.

I loved Drive Angry 3D, and that tanked. Grindhouse was great, and that flopped. Speaking of Tarantino, True Romance was a commercial flop, and that's fantastic. Four Rooms is a notorious bomb, but for me it's a guilty pleasure. Donnie Darko I love, and that, initially, was a bomb. Hugo was great, even though it was a BO disappointment. Despite recent comments I made, I have re-watched Sucker Punch, and I'm starting to warm up to it (I don't quite like it, yet, but I didn't hate it like I

Dark City flopped, but I love it. Almost none of David Lynch's films have done well commercially, but I love most of those. I'm finding I could do this all day, so I'll stop here. I'll just end by saying there's nothing on the list above I cared for at all, most of those movies deserved to bomb.

The Postman

Had to go with this Costner epic. I loved this film. I have always thought that the reason it got such bad reviews is because people were expecting another Dances With Wolves and they got this. Well, I personally love this flick! Yeah, it was slow in spots, but good gravy, ALL of Wolves was slow except for the final 15 minutes. Would never have voted for Green Lantern as that movie is just horrible! There's a reason WB is not making it a part of their future lineup of comic book movies.

I liked Sahara. Strange because I knew it wasn't that popular but it never occurred to me that it was a flop on the magnitude of John Carter or Battlefield Earth.

Off the list: DARK CITY (a scifi classic) & SERENITY (another classic)

Some other favorite flops of mine: FRANKIE & JOHNNY (Pacino's criminally underrated romantic movie), THE BIG LEBOWSKI, KISS KISS BANG BANG, EQUILIBRIUM, BICENTANNIAL MAN (I know most people hate it, but I LOVE it!), among others. From this list: SPEED RACER & 13TH WARRIOR (both of them are really fun films).

Because I'm too lazy to walk the 2 feet to look through my dvds and say other, I went with 13th Warrior. Banderas kicked ass as Ibn and a bunch of giant Scandinavian dudes fighting monsters, what's not to like?

Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Many thought it was a misstep, but it's gained a cult following and I can completely see why. It was inventive, action-packed and so much fun. Just a good time.

"Would you like to swing on a star"

Hudson Hawk is so damn bad, it's good. Great cast and an enjoyable cheesy movie too watch. Actually surprised 70 other people so far voted for it. I would throw a movie on the list that isn't there, but don't know how badly it flopped, if at all. What about Last Action Hero?

I would choose John Carter & Green Lantern. Carter was marketed terribly and GL is not as bad as people say. It's a decent origin story and I'm bummed that we will not get to see Sinestro & Star Sapphire now.

I think bad writing and direction killed Green Lantern. The movie in and itself really didn't do a good job of keeping you invested with the hero or the corps. I mean Jordan ran back to Earth when training got tough and when asking for help the Watchers pretty much said it's too hard so the left the fight with the unstoppable Parallax all on Jordan's shoulders and like that he's part of the corps and don't even talk to me about the end credit bit. There was no lead in nor motivation for

Carter I've yet to see but I probably will when it hits Starz.

I chose Speed Racer from the list, with Carter in second, as I think those are two films with very clear marketing that cater to their audience very well, deliver, and are very entertaining films. But I saw someone list Grindhouse, and I have to wonder why that isn't on the list. Although it is essentially two films, it would be my choice as well. And it did great with critics, but for some reason did poorly at the box office.

I'd disagree that John Carter & Green Lantern are flops.

Movies don't make over 200 Million dollars and are considered flops. Even if you included marketing costs, they're just unsuccessful. Flop to me means they recovered less than half of their spending in theaters.

John Carter made 280 mil, barely making back it's budget. On top of this, the amount of marketing that Disney put into this film did not translate into the big bucks that I think they planned on earning. For a film of it's size, it's certainly a flop. Green Lantern could be considered the same, and the fact that it's a comic book film in a time when comic book films do big business, means that it was much more than just unsuccessful.

Multiplicity

Michael Keaton is freakin' amazing in the film. He creates 4 completely distinct characters... to the point where you can tell which one he is just by the way he's standing. It's awesome.

Just bought Cutthroat Island on blu-ray

The Postman, Battleship, Speed Racer, and Cuthroat Island, John Carter, in that order. Everything else is as bad as the box office dictated. I think a decent version of The 13th Warrior exists in a vault somewhere, though. Mars Needs Moms was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

also, i agree with Dookie, serenity should have been on this list.

I think the problem with most of these movies isn't that they're bad but they're either poorly marketed, over budgeted or worst of all, boring.

As for my choices Frighteners, Grindhouse, Speed Racer, Scott Pilgrim, Treasure Planet, Serenity, Starship Troopers & Stardust.

read that wrong and ended up voting for Battleship because I thought it was asking which movie you were happy that it flopped. John Carter was amazing and my vote would have went there, or even speed racer because that was pretty awesome too. Great poll

FREQUENCY & SOURCE CODE

Of those two...I'd pick 2000's Frequency as my #1. w/ Dennis Quaid, Jim Cavizel & Elizabeth Mitchell.

Prob 2 of the most rare, underrated & touching sci-fi/drama's I've ever seen.

Seriously, if you haven't watched it, DO SO! Make sure you see it on blu ray on a nice big TV.

The Wachowski's redeemed themselves from the Matrix sequels with that movie.

I thought John Carter was a pretty decent movie and not deserving of all the hate. The only thing I can fault on that one was Disney's poor marketing and the fact that they spent so much money on it that it was not likely to ever be considered profitable.
