Awesome new TV spot for The Dark Knight Rises features explosive new footage

Jun. 15, 2012by: Paul Shirey

Everything's coming up Batman these days as anticipation continues to build for the finale to Christopher Nolan's trilogy and today we have another TV spot that is sure to wow you into a "f*ck, I can't wait til this comes out" stupor.  And that's not a bad thing.

Get back in the game:

I am still kind of amazed that even with all this footage and promotional images, Nolan and co. have been able to keep the biggest secrets safe (who is Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, is Miranda Tate good or bad, does Batman die, etc.?).  Truly, a bravo job in marketing and, thus far, a great example of how to get your film out there without spoiling it.  Of course, we still have five weeks to go...

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES opens on July 20, 2012 in traditional and IMAX theaters.  Got your tickets yet?

Extra Tidbit: Anybody watch the cooking TV show Master Chef? There's a contestant named Monte on there who is a dead ringer for Anne Hathaway. So much so, that I keep wondering why Anne Hathaway is on a cooking show...

You gotta hand it to Nolan

Instead of up conversion, he does it the right way and shows us how to really do a blockbuster. IMAX all the way. 1 hour of footage will blow us out of the theater.

That first pic looks like Bane at a bank. The caption should read: "Do you have change for a dime?"

The relationship between Bruce and Lucius is one of many things I really like about the Nolan Batman films. It seems that while Alfred is the only one who truly "gets" Bruce, Lucius seems totally cool with him and his laid-back sort of personality hides that he's really sharp, intelligent and kind. One character I hope to see in Batman films in the future is Dr Leslie Thompkins. I think she definitely has a place in Bruce's life and has cinematic potential.

Bale already pointed out that Batman doesn't die by saying he'd do another sequel if Nolan directs.

I think it was just a ploy to throw people off. Because with all the secrecy surrounding TDKR, for him to let slip an indirect answer to one of the biggest questions fans are asking doesn't make sense to me.

I'm just wondering, what has people so convinced that Bruce Wayne is going to die in this movie? I mean, what solid evidence is out there that supports that?

I'm also impressed with the marketing and how little it gives away, so tired of movies blowing their loads in the trailer (I already knew more about Prometheus at this point in its marketing campaign and The Amazing Spider-Man seems to be showing everything in it's trailers and clips). I wish Catwoman's role was still a bit more ambiguous (marketing has made it rather obvious her and Batman team up at some point), but that's the only real thing I see the trailers giving away.

Didn't do anything for me. Still not convinced by anything I've seen so far for TDKR.

Woah Antarius, John Didn't say anything Bad about TDKR, I didn't know someone couldn't express his point of view towards a movie. That was just a rude comment Antarius, It is people like you, who ruin movies.
