I went from Dennis Hopper to Vader before I settled on Chevy. I was shocked to see so many thought like me! So many good choices! I think Denethor (LOTR) is an amusing entry though.

My Dad reminds me of Chief Brody in Jaws, as played by Roy Scheider. A regular, hardworking guy who's on the lookout for everyone and when push comes to shove, can kick ass.

Strangely I chose Reese Bobby because I first expected him to be 1 Dimensional but the way he fixes his son's destroyed pride was quite heart-warming.

Also, I would have included Christopher Johnson from D9.

Steve Martin in Parenthood

Don't know why, but I love that film to death. I've definitely seen it way too many times! (Which reminds me, is it out on Blu-ray?)

Cliff Worley

The brilliantly selfless thing he does for his kid is one of my favorite movie moments of all time.

I'd describe my Dad as Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) from Tron Legacy with the obligatory bit of Clark Griswold in there.

Grandpa (Barnard Hughes) (He played Dianne Wiest's father) in "The Lost Boys". Pretty much let the kids get into as much trouble as possible before riding in and saving the day.

Clark Griswold

He's the most honest representation of a dad on the list. Caring, hard-working, straight to the point, horny and badass in his own mind. And he's great for it.

As of the minute I leave this, Clark Griswold is still #1 with 100% of all two votes going to him. Peace, I'm outta here.
