Dodgeball clips online

05.13.2004

Yesterday I said the only film I thought could compete with Will Ferrell's ANCHORMAN as funniest film of the summer was DODGEBALL with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. That point is hammered home today with two new clips from the film and an ever-expanding website. If you head over to www.dodgeballmovie.com/balls/ you'll first watch a clip of a poor kid just getting the bejeezus repeatedly beat out of him with a dodge ball. Even funnier still is the clip that pops up when you click "Get in training now!" on that same page. It's a faux 50s educational video complete with a cameo by Hank Azaria as Patches O'Hoolihan, apparently an old dodgeball pro from back in the day. It's pretty damn funny stuff and I'm impressed they'd go through such lengths to film something like this to promote the movie. Good stuff. From there you can head over and check out the rest of the official site, including the flash dodgeball game where you can practice the so-called 5 Ds of dodgeball (which interesting enough really only has 4 Ds) - dodge, duck dip, dive and...dodge. It's a fun time and a nice diversion me thinks from all these CGI-laden films that are inundating the summer season so far. DODGEBALL hits theaters on June 18th.
