The Passion of The Christ - August 31

Jim Caviezel didn't have to change his monogrammed "J.C." underwear for his role as Jesus "El Savior" Christ, because they have the same initials. Sometimes the stars are aligned that way.

  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround Tracks
  • Separate Anamorphic Widescreen and Full Screen Editions
  • English and Spanish subtitles

Wow. The Lord blessed us earlier this week with the Scorsese Collection but ripped His own Son's DVD release with no extras. People are right: The Lord works in mysterious ways. So, (considering the multiple edition trend) expect a "Holier Than Thou" Bonus Edition to come out some time later this year. Nothing like commerce and profitiability in the name of Christ, 'eh Mel? From Fox Home Entertainment $29.95

Little help here, people....little help

"Jesus, may I be of service?""
"You're about forty lashes too late hun, but thanks."

Jesus Christ Superstar (SE): - August 31

Don't like to see your Jesus getting beat down Jack White-style? Have no fear. For on the same day that The Passion comes out, you can pick up the re-release of this ultra-charming musical that will not totally bum you out and make you feel as you should repent for that time you took pictures of women's undergarments at Victoria's Secret with your cell phone. Huh?

  • Audio commentaries with Director Norman Jewison and actor Ted Neeley
  • Production Notes
  • Filmographies
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • 2.35;1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Track

From Universal Home Video $14.95 (The Lord is hooking you up on that)

Jesus in a way too suggestive pose. I like it!

Six Feet Under: Season Two - July 6

Having conversations while cutting up dead people has never looked so cool. Just ask my Uncle Pedro, he knows all about that kind of stuff. Only you'll have to ask him in about 10-12 years, depending on his parole hearing.

  • Five commentaries with Alan Ball, Writers & Directors
  • Featurette on Final Two Episodes
  • Episode Previews & Season One Recap
  • English, French and Spanish subtitles
  • English French and Spanish DD 2.0 Surround Track
  • 4:3 Full Frame Presentations

The original release date of June 8th has been changed to July 6th. Now you have to wait a whole extra month for this puppy. Somebody at Warner dropped the ball on this. From Warner Home Video $99.99 (gulp!)

Uncle Pedro: circa 1978
