What did you think about the The Bourne Legacy?

Liked it! A worthy addition to the franchise.
It's okay, didn't really love it or hate it.
Ugh, it doesn't deserve to have Bourne in the title.
Skipped it, the previews didn't impress me.
No Damon, no Bourne. I'll stick with the original trilogy.

The solid acting kept the film alive, but the action was bland, and I cannot stress how bad the chase scene was at the end. It didn't excite me at all. But overall, it was just okay. Renner and Weisz had phenomenal chemistry.

Sequel

I would love the four man team of Jason and Nicky with Aaron and Marta. Or Jason and Nicky vs Aaron and Marta

I expected it to be halfway-decent but was surprised by how solid a film it was and how well it held up. Yes, the filmmakers were trying pretty hard to tie it into the Bourne franchise, but by the end of the film I didn't see it as just another Hollywood cash grab, I saw it as a competent, taut, exciting action thriller that was well-crafted and well-acted. Jeremy Renner did try to make Cross a distinct character from Bourne and on the whole he succeeded, and Rachel Weisz was a fairly believable genetic scientist (she played a physicist in Chain Reaction in 1996). Edward Norton did a lot with the material he was given; he almost never gets to physically face off against Cross and spends most of his time in mission control, but was still interesting to watch and never a flat or caricature-esque villain. Sure, the plot probably didn't have as much intrigue as the original trilogy, but it had a lot to latch on to and I feel it shouldn't be maligned or ignored, as spin-offs often are.

Thank You For Using A Steadicam

Spoilers Ahead.........This franchise could literally go on for years, like 007 or MI series. Jeremy Renner seems to be the "go to guy" in Hollywood for the hard core military type that likes to get scarred up and sacrifice it all for his country and the "program". He has excellent fighting skills but his on-screen chemistry with Rachel Weisz seemed so forced. On the flip side, Rachel Weisz was very believable without trying too hard and introduced a whole new aspect of the "program" to the

You have to wonder if the gov really does experiment on our troops in the field and try to create a super soilder. This theme has been getting alot of mileage these days..X-Men, Captian America, Nikita, the list goes on.

MOVING PAST BOURNE ONTO CROSS

What we have here is a franchise that continues in the same vain but with a similarly based character as the one before. Eric Van Lustbader has written 6 novels past Ultimatum for a new a more involved plots. No, this wasn't really a Bourne movie and it showed. I think the producers and director wanted to set a simllar tone but not drive down the same road as before. They accomplished this. Legacy needs to be taken on it's own merits and it was a good movie. No one would have seen the

Since Cross is born out of the same covert programs as Bourne it only stands to reason that the franchise bear the same name. Honoring what Ludlum started was only proper and this movie carries out the legacy just fine. The next few movies will be better and more exciting. The potential certainly is there and I for one look forward to the next installments.

Liked It

Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Bourne Legacy'. It was fast paced and the ending left lots of options for sequels. Jeremy Renner does great action scenes and Rachel Weisz was believable as the researcher that finally confronts the real world.
Everyone forgets the uproar over Matt Damon doing the first Bourne movie. He wasn't considered to have the chops for an action movie. Now many JoBlo readers consider is sacrilege if anyone else does a related movie. Give Renner's

I would like to see the Aaron Cross and Jason Bourne movies run in parallel over the next few years. Each film could make an interesting counterpoint to the other film's storyline.

It was fairly disappointing. The movie drags on far too long, with too little action, a far cry from the relentless pacing of the previous Bourne films. And the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. where it pretty much undid everything that was resolved in Ultimatum and left it on a unsatisfactory cliffhanger.

That said, I liked Renner, Weisz, and Norton in this film, and wouldn't mind seeing a sequel with them, but only if Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass or Doug Liman return.
