I say stick with who brought you to the dance. Don't try to do something else quite yet just to try something new

I think he

should direct what ever he thinks is best - he's shown very good judgment so far.

Gonna get real nerdy here...

If DC gets its act together, Affleck would be a cool choice to direct either Martian Manhunter or a Suicide Squad movie. Manhunter played as a Blade Runner-style combination of sci fi and noir....Suicide Squad as a Dirty Dozen/Kelly's Heroes style war/heist film. Both offer that chance to mix genres and elements like The Town & Argo did.

And also because if he insists on casting himself I think Affleck would make a decent Deadshot. So long as Russell Crowe is Captain Boomerang.

He needs to continue to do whatever he wants to. Obviously he is making the right choices, good for him. Best of luck.

don't get the hype

I thought the Town was just about adequate but I'm not getting all the love for Argo. Both the Town and ESPECIALLY Argo would've been so much better without Affleck in front of the camera. He was beyond bland in Argo and it's disgraceful that he placed himself in the staring role. Antonio Mendez is hispanic, very noticeably I might add, and there are so many hispanic actors who could've actually brought something to the role other than being just another bland, mopey protagonist that goes

At best he comes across as a megalomaniac and at worst he's white washing history, sweeping part of Mendez's identity under the rug. This meta-storytelling of his hidden identity might actually be kind of clever if I believed Affleck were capable of doing so...

I would like to see him tackle a bio film. He knows how to handle real life events, now Id like to see him use it to focus on an individual.

I always want to see someone direct a horror film just to see their spin on it.

Since Gone Baby Gone had a lot of elements of a thriller I could definitely see him crafting something classic in that genre. Very dark, slow burn, thriller. Also, I'm not sure how he would cope with my favorite genre - sci-fi - but I'd like to see him try.

I'm not sure if he's good for a comedy just yet. It takes a particular sensibility, and just because he worked with Kevin Smith doesn't make him right for it. As long as it's grounded in some sort of reality, sci-fi isn't a bad choice. But he's the premier director of American thrillers right now, and I'd like to see him continue in that vein. I'm not itching for him to get into the comic book movie business. But I bet he could direct a mean action/adventure, too.

if it ain't broke, dont fix it.

i'm perfectly fine with him staying in the crime/thriller drama genre. He's 3/3 and would love to see more heist films out of him. I wouldnt be against a comedy or scifi (or even superhero), i think he could do it very well. But he's got a good thing going, he really doesnt need to risk it, not for me anyway.

Comedy - something like The Kids Are Alright meets Clerks

Just something to get him out of his comfort zone.
